From an Unhinged BBC and Other Western Mainstream Media Crackpots – Don’t We Have Serious Problems of Our Own?

Today’s big headline from the BBC, allegedly late yesterday – ‘China arrested 30 Christians. Some fear it’s the start of a bigger crackdown’. Not a star or star spangled jack hammer on the crackdown we’ve seen in Gaza, compare the two.

Rights activists and scholars estimate that tens of millions more Chinese attend unregistered churches, also known as house churches, which do not follow state-sanctioned ideologies’ – Aha, unregistered churches, house churches – but that’s about all we are going to get in this grubby grab as if they weren’t out of sight secret institutions and part of an existential problem in many societies.

‘Rights activists and scholars’ – hell that sounds good, unless you are a non-believer or independent thinker or critic. I wonder who the BBC are referring to or do we just take their word for it?

In recent months, there have been signs of Chinese authorities once again tightening the screws’ – a deliberate reference to torture inflicted by the Spanish Inquisition in the Middle Ages, but tragically also used by Henry VIII, Oliver Cromwell and many soldiers and spies on behalf of the British Empire, on his or her Majesty’s Service, not to mention the rumbustious and obscene colonial treatment of China throughout Victorian times – the Opium Wars (1839-1842 & 1856-1860), annexation of Hong Kong (1841), and the century of humiliation (1839-1945), all about when these earlier religious Christian missionaries started out alongside the established proxy warmongering East India Company.

My God, BBC you have a hide for history!

In the last few months, Zion church members have also faced increasing questioning by police officers, Ms Jin Drexel said – Yes and… clearly that too is all we are going to be told by the BBC or Ms Jin Drexel, and I do wonder what her mission or her father’s mission is really all about. Perhaps her father could have chosen his faith a little more wisely given the country he lives in, or any other country for that matter.

I don’t think I can be bothered to cite much more of this, it’s just such a bundle of tripe and gossip, China bashing, false garrison and sensationalism on the back of human rights and yes it’s now doing the rounds across the Western mainstream media, and no doubt we will hear about it in the very same vein and tone from our ABC this evening – don’t hold your breath though!

Anyone noticed a lull in Israel’s genocidal war by Israel? Trump’s already lost interest in Ukraine and I doubt he has much more to offer in the Middle East other than his Riviera, monetary policy and virtual coin, weapons, oil and self-enrichment. After all, if 20 steps is enough for peace in the Middle East, all we need, all it takes to blow your chances on Palestine, Norway, Greenland, Canada and may be a few less steps in Venezuela, to show off your prowess to China, without serious embarrassment or proclaim. Now Tony Blair’s star or user by date has well faded and so is Sir Keir Starmer’s fading, I understand. Sycophants do not sell papers or TV channels like the fast feeding megastar and genocidal murderer, Netanyahu.

So the BBC in its bid to have the next headline has, it seems chosen some obscure Zionist home church none of us have heard of and ingratiated it with a sizeable Christian population in the shadows of ‘tens of millions’ no less, and its obscure undisclosed doctrines and mission ‘which do not follow state-sanctioned ideologies’ in hugely populated China. And this will lead us into the weekend with its gobsmacking media wonder, factitious BBC self-righteousness and to quote the Trump, ‘fake news’. God bless them all but I fail to see why China should!

Freedom from religion, religious authoritarianism and abuse should come as a government health warning on every package, church billboard, religious TV channel, virtual and face to face evangelical campaign or gathering. And why should religion have sway and authority over those who choose not to be governed, indoctrinated, abused, used or influenced by unregulated authority. We have enough of this from those in authoritarian, bureaucratic and unaccountable governments and the over privileged in society. History and present day has taught us loud and clear, religion cannot be trusted, church and State don’t mix. We need protections from religion not swoons and mandates. America would do well to limit the excesses of fundamentalist religious mania, power and hunger games if it wishes to hold on to democracy, freedom or even the semblance of a functioning State and society. Once again Australia take heed.

This is not about freedom of religion or faith, for if it were those who choose not to be would be respected. But they will come knocking at your door, tell you how to live your life, take away your freedom and reason, steal your money, seek special tax exemption, set up profitable exploitative businesses, lobby against your moral, constitutional, democratic rights, and seek special political status and protectionist legislation. They’ll even hold a gun to your head for your beliefs and non-beliefs, kidnap and abuse your children, your partner, control birthrights, your body, gender, identity and mind, blackmail, control, disown or defame you. Extreme, unregulated religion does all of this alongside those who do much good – but there’s the rub, either path is open to religion without charity or ethics, sanction or remorse, and it is often sanctioned by and enshrined in State legislation – No Queen of Hearts here much apart from her true symbolic ambiguity and horror.

You only have to look at America to see the damage done to democracy, the constitution and the rule of law (justice). The power of corporate and Christian evangelism, Pentecostalism, Christian Zionism, Zionism, Scientology, Seventh Day Adventists, Mormonism, Hillsong Church (ah yes that one certainly started in Australia, we’ve been there too), and Christian fundamentalismunregulated fringe cults and sects, corruption, money laundering, sex scandals, child abuse, repression and violence against women, misuse of donations, charity status for tax evasion, business advantage and wealth accumulation, unnatural political lobby and economic abuse of State, democracy and society – all under the fraudulent misrepresented umbrella of liberty, freedom of speech and faith.

‘Here’s Donny’ Religion v State by Nick Anderson 2017

Fundamentalist Christianity is out of control indoctrinating the masses, abusing its power for selfish and religious purposes, oligarchical power, and influence over State (society) fudging the boundaries between State and religion, interfering in domestic affairs, creating civil unrest, lobbying for laws to protect its religious interests for the few powerful ministries who benefit, like de facto unelected, self appointed federal members of parliament (and senate), pushing society over the cliff, herding the swine. And that’s just America going down the gurgler of dystopian society, accelerated by Trump and runaway Republicanism, Capitalism and the opportunistic marriage of Christian right wing authoritarianism – these are just some of America’s hardened demons. I’m damn sure China doesn’t want them, to protect itself from internal combustion or implosion, and any future marauding foreign power or State mission.

Then you have the fiefdoms, caliphates, religious enclaves, Papal States, the Vatican, national religious governments and States where there is no separation of religion and State – Israel, Iran, Afghanistan (Taliban), India (Hindu), Pakistan (Muslim) and Arab States. All and most of these with no visible authentic representative, secular and autonomous social democracy, where the abuse of religious, economic and social ideology and power on society is extreme, corrupt and/or divided between the people and their governing authoritarian regimes concentrating excessive wealth and power in the hands of the few over genuine freedom, responsible government, mass inequality and poverty.

And what of the historical abuses, wars, oppression, torture and genocide of religious authority over the people since time immemorial by the Roman Catholic Church, Protestantism and condescending morality of the religious, exclusive, separatist, protectionist, and the evangelising selfrighteous – who simply couldn’t leave the people or their preferred governments be – thousands of years of religious hegemony and torture of mankind and civilisation? Why would China not monitor these auspiciously, carefully and especially the fringes, follies and deviants of religion? It would be reckless not to – civilizations rise and fall, and as many fall due to religion as from secular or economic border conflicts, wars, famine or climate change.

I don’t hear any political criticism coming from the BBC, public or oligarchical owners of the Western press in the same vein we see here about China, and I don’t expect any except from the still quiet voices of a small diverse independent media. If religion won’t selfregulate for public good it does not deserve protection by the State. If religion undermines society, democracy or government forsaking the good of the people, and instead uses its wealth and influence over the people to undermine government of the people by the people and their elected, appointed representatives, then religion is abusing its privileged status in society and squandering further its ill-gotten inheritance. It does not deserve to survive, or at least should suffer firm and appropriate regulation and limitation by constitution, law or statute over and above unregulated reckless abuse, neglect, selfinterest, chaos, dystopian dictatorship, plutocracy or anarchy.

China has its own sovereign concerns. Perhaps the Western world, indeed all nations should pay more attention to their own abuses of power and get their house in order instead of pointing the finger somewhere else. And we can start with that failed corporate experiment we call America and all the other offenders mentioned here – BBC London calling too.

I find this article from the BBC particularly disappointing on this critical and complex subject, like most of our commercial Western press – the thoughtless degenerate rattlings of a misguided and misappropriated privileged press, worse still public broadcaster – shame on you. It is unhinged, unbalanced, ill-thought and insulting on our intelligence and moral reasoning. It stacks dangerous false argument and timber in our eye, and yes its biblical, it’s Sermon on the Mount (go look it up, I’m not hyperlinking it here), it’s presumptuous, scant and arrogant – smells like rotting wood when quite clearly we have serious problems of our own to mind.

Zionist Churches (Christian Zionism) – ‘For Christians who believe that the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948 was a fulfilment of biblical prophecy. And we’ve seen the treachery of that at Palestine’s expense, no doubt in my mind when God wasn’t looking! And that’s the problem, religion has lost its patron, the creator it possibly never had and so follows the humanitarian abuse and suffering at Zion’s hands. I don’t recall any biblical prophecy of that.

But what is the Zion Church in China – does anyone know who or what they stand for? Could they be a threat, what possibly relevance are they to China, one of the world’s oldest continuous successful civilisations with its own unique and diverse values, philosophies and cultures (some of whom are too quick, immature, prejudiced, racist, vested or ignorant to judge)? Surely China sees what has clearly grabbed and hijacked America’s stability, reputation and society, and this is not the only country we all should be wary of! But the irony of rotting wood, as one mace wanes in the darkness and another rises in this menacing febrile Port of Zion, not Qin.

That very word ‘Zion’ should be ringing alarm bells, but where’s the description, operational detail, the examination of assumption, critique or analysis by the BBC? Typically there isn’t any. It’s cheap shots season ‘foot in mouth disease, not worth the political attention, that will bring us down.

Stuff that up your BBC pomp and circumstance, your ‘crack down’ pipe and smoke it, and any other media outlet that runs or duplicates this story and divisive narrative. The Zionists and right wing Christian lobby are hell bent on social and religious engineering, they are not interested in peace, justice, democracy or freedom, but speak of war, mission, ideology, doctrine, oppression and control. They already have our governments in their pockets, big chunks of business and commerce, mainstream media, the BBC and ABC (Australia), threatening democracy, civil liberty and national sovereignty, just as they have in our feudal and colonial past. China probably doesn’t like it and nor do ‘we’. And I do not know any Australians who would have captive America drag us into another rampage or foreign war, especially not in our regional neighbourhood nor with China, and certainly not over religion, commerce, tariffs, imperialism and sanctimonious human rights.

Go for peace, live long and prosper, our magnificent boat in space divines us to do our duty with or without religion – without the petty squabbles, oppression or annihilation.

  1. Nice work Jon.

I read briefly yesterday that it’s not christianity that China is cracking down on — it’s zionism.
    Big difference.

  2. Steve – Understandably and not just because of China’s colonial history, we are all under threat by Zionism, religious and Christian fundamentalism. I hadn’t seen this distinction mentioned and clearly the BBC got the wrong end of the stick entirely. Big difference indeed and political misinformation.

  3. All China need do is hold its nerve, remain inscrutable, and watch the West disintergrate under the weight of it’s own greed and stupidity.
Who said China plays the long Game, measured in centuries? As for Israel,it’s game over.As it is for Trumpistan.

  4. China has zero tolerance for fringe groups that endeavour to influence the people in ways antithetical to the Big Story & Main Game, viz., the reemergence of the nation as being at the Centre of the Earth and its rightful reoccupation of being principal power and main game player amongst the planet’s peoples. Falun Gong gets short shrift wherever it pops its needy head up, and Christianity similarly… the question hardly begs… why ought China exhibit tolerance towards a religion that is antithetical to the historical social fabric of that country vis-à-vis its relationship to both Confucianism and Buddhism? And not only that, but a religion practiced by the barbarians who endeavoured to cripple that country through the Concession era and the imposition of Opium on the peoples, misery, suffering and addiction for British & American profit.

  5. One does not fret about BBC content on China, but replicates other UK white Christian nationalist RW media, ditto locally.

Obsessions about all things idnentity and ‘great replacement’ by dog whistling the key pillars, immigration and population growth; in parallel with the far right, Soros conspiracy etc..

However, like local media, they view this as unique and sovereign issues, but in fact transnational from US fossil fuel & anti-immigrant Tanton Network, for the past generation…..

Presently deflection and protection is being run by the BBC for Nigel Farage & Reform’s links to Russian influence; pre Brexit Farage was wooed by then Breitbart’s Steve ‘great replacement’ Bannon* = mainstreaming Tanton Network.

Remember the 4Corners selfie with Bannon several years, normalisation or the far right…..

  6. Jon, thank you.

History has shown and continues to show religion up for being the most murderous of power structures ever invented.

Followed closely by the restricting of freedoms under authoritarian governments imposing doctrinaire policies, such as Communism under Stalin or Mao.

When it comes to the assertion of one creed over another, religious or ideologic, the freedoms of the citizens is compromised.

    People are sacrificed.

  7. “Freedom of religion” means freedom to pontificate over self applied virtues that accentuate the differences among others who choose not to believe.

  8. Thank you too Bert – Just cited/updated (in body of article here) one of yours ‘What is Zionism and what is Christian Zionism? – https://theaimn.net/what-is-zionism-and-what-is-christian-zionism/ you wrote back in March, very useful here and which I missed back then.

Somewhat clash of irony I think noting also your comment around Communism – while religion and State do clash, it would seem under Xi Jinping the ‘crack down’ is on Christian Zionism (and perhaps de facto Zionism, justifiably given the territorial genocide and threat to all societies), not mainstream (‘non-confrontational/non-threatening’ christianity (aca Steve). There is an argument for legitimacy which you won’t find in the hypocrisy of Western media, especially when institutions like the BBC (UK) cosy up to Trump’s fundamentalist regime and flirt with christian zionism and fundamentalism. And of course historically the USA and Britain are largely responsible for this pathetic and tragic Olympian ‘Laurel and Hardy’ Oliphantic mess.

Australia has its neoliberal (and disingenuous Labor) moments too under the flag of ‘peaceful’ protests, but now fast becoming an euphemism especially in NSW and Victoria – both State governments like Federal are pro Zionist, because they fail to distinguish their foreign and domestic policy directives from pro Israeli ((though just as bad given) and Judaist and Jewish diaspora (which Israel and Zionists so purposely conflate) bearing down their massive weight of moral hypocrisy on its own diaspora, religion and peoples, while using religion for their purposes to suppress everything humanitarian under the dogma of now equally weaponised antisemitism.

  9. The great duping going back many thousands of years, since arseholes invented themselves as agents of silent and invisible gods. The m.o. of which has since been used by corrupt govts and privateers to subjugate and extract from the people. Such greedy arseholes demand oblations, whilst enacting fear and war, rather than providing tangible beneficial civil services for all – that’s left to gentler folk.
