Democratic congresspersons and candidates are all in criticizing President Trump’s Iran war.
‘It’s a foolish war with no end in sight. ’It’s driving up the cost of driving and everything we buy at the store.’ It’s opposed by an overwhelming majority of the American people.’ ‘It was not authorized by Congress as required by the Constitution.’
While all true, Democrats are fixated on exploiting Trump’s clearly lost war that has backfired spectacularly, to take over Congress at the November 3 election. What we do not hear from Democrats is the most important criticism that must be leveled at Trump’s deranged February 28 attack on Iran. It is a criminal war that is rightly being defended to the death by Iran posing no threat to America whatsoever.
Not one of the 259 Democratic congresspersons and a single Democratic congressional candidate is following the mandate of Nuremberg War Crime Trial Chief Prosecutor Robert Jackson. He issued the mandate that the trial was to establish that unlawful war was the supreme international crime from which every death, injury, destruction of property emanated from that supreme international crime. Jackson stated that while the law set forth in the Kellogg Briand Pact of 1928 was first being applied to Nazi war criminals, “the law includes, and if it is to serve a useful purpose, it must condemn aggression by any other nations including those who sit here now in judgement. The real complaining party at your bar is Civilization.”
“Those sitting here now in judgement”, Democrats, includes the United States. You must condemn Presidient Trump’s endless war on Iran which has killed and injured thousands first, as the criminal war it is requiring immediate end, and second, prosecution of Trump and his war counsel for war crimes. Everything Democrats offered till now is politics.

Title correction: THE Supreme International Crime.
Are people here and everywhere afraid of glaring truths, of clarity, accuracy, criminality? Backed by greedites, filthites, supremacists, media mafiosa, maggotty wannabe “winners” on a gravy train, Trump has crimed through a life of cheating misbehaviour and indifferece to civilised behaviour, legalities, any fairness, and, enough support has come from USA general gutless, heartless, brainless support and activity. This must be corrected, ended, resolved, right now.
Like the duopoly here,Democrats/Republicans are an abysmal failure.Unable, unwilling, to escape the money driven hamster wheel. If they don’t recognise the utter futility of the neoliberal status quo now, we are doomed to another stone age.
Maybe that’s a good thing.
The rot set in for the Democrats when in 2016 they chose Hillary over Bernie. I do believe Bernie would have won and we would now be living in a better world.
Just sayin’.
Roswell
The fatal date in history may well have been in 1946 when Fred Trump suggested to his wife Mary that they go up stairs for a little hanky panky.
One of the more unfortunate decisons in history, poor Mary had she known the possible ramifications, she could have said she was washing her hair that night.
@ Roswell: Agreed. Then Biden did the silly ”I can still be POTUS” ego trip that lost Kamala Harris any chance of winning.
@ Terry Mills: Agreed, An astute observation!
More than one fatal date in history people….and it’s got worse ever since!

If that’s not enough, there is the serial failure by every government on this planet failing to remove the environmental and climate threats to everything.
I won’t hear another word that comes out of that clown’s mouth and his sycophants, in addition to the current Labour governments on this climate matter.

“…‘It’s a foolish war with no end in sight. ’It’s driving up the cost of driving and everything we buy at the store.’ …”
Americans are so wrapped up in their world of exceptionalism that they can’t see the reality of the long list of tragedies that their political elites have wrought on so many other nations, particularly since 1945.
Excellent article Walt, thank you.
I think it is important to differentiate within the Democratic party itself though, into the Democratic establishment and Democratic progressives.
I can’t watch podcasts like ‘I’ve had it’ that delve into the hypocricies of the Democratic establishment representatives and supporters, at present. But, Owen Jones has recently done a piece on the smear campaign the Democratic establishment have launched on leftist streamer Hasan Piker and the Democratic Party’s own progressive candidates.
The Senate majority might be decided by a single seat. I haven’t seen the actual attacks myself, but according to Jones it would appear that the Democratic establishment are prepared to throw the election to maintain their own grip on the party.
“They also clearly want to destroy the chances of progressive candidates like Abdul el-Sayed, who is standing for the Senate in Michigan, even if that destroys the Democrats’ chances of winning the Senate – so they can say: look, if you select progressive candidates, they will lose against the Republicans. The aim is to deter other voters from following that example.”
Roswell, I agree. I suspect that 2016 showed many US voters that the Democratic establishment had only their own interests at heart, which meant serving the corporations not the people.
Harry, I agree, we need to throw out Labor and look to progressive alternatives, the Greens and Independents.
