Trump leveraged Putin’s remark that the Ukraine invasion “might not have happened” under his watch, spinning it as proof of his foreign policy prowess and a fix for “Democrat mess-ups.” The summit’s optics – red carpets, a joint press conference, and Putin’s ride in “The Beast” limo – were highlighted as symbols of American dominance, though skeptics dismissed them as stagecraft masking substantive failures.

The Trumpsters pathological obsession for a peace prize, and near hatred of Barrack Obama who got one and he didn’t, colours almost everything he says and does. The award itself is made from electrum with a coating of 24 carat gold so it’s no big deal visually. In Donalds mind, it’s most likely the gold (and being able wave it around in peoples faces like a petulant child who wins a prize) that matters and not the meaning that lies behind the trinket. For him it’s the aura it creates around him as the worlds greatest man.
Clearly his definition of victory does not align in any way with most of the population of Ukraine – or I suspect a lot of the rest of the world.
Putin told reporters over two weeks ago that “All disappointments come from inflated expectations.”
There are still too many who allow the mainstream media to shape their thinking on these matters.
The summit came after several visits to Moscow by US officials, so the meeting agenda was already in place.
It would appear that Ukraine was only part of the agenda, and possibly a minor part at that.
We are witnessing a major re-arranging of the global furniture.

Zelenskyy wants a “safe, free” Ukraine. Putin wants an impregnable Mother Russia, having absorbed history from Napoleon to Hitler. Trump is a liar, a prodder, a fantasiser, a poxed pervert, a dealer and stealer, a bleating cheat, an old hardening turd. But, Europe is a threatened loser, especially Germany, for ages the battlefield of ultimate extermination. Can Britain, France, Germany revitalise Europe and NATO?
Another set of self-aggrandising claims with no evidentiary support. Trump’s desperation gor a Nobel is plain for all to see when all he’s deserving of is an ig-Nobel being ignoble himself.

T-Rump, drugged since birth, and drunk on power without a plan, a duper as a matter of course. And Putin in charge of the largest most inhospitable place on Earth that no-one can manage, the oil and the climate, remains determined to gain entry to ‘Club Med’ and the south, and with the ascended China at his back, has no reason to swallow the dupes or budge a millimeter. Conversely, taking great personal joy in being invited to Alaska, then walking away with bearing, west across the straits.
