How Many Politicians Does It Take To Turn Back Time?

Person holding a torn paper shopping bag.

Recently I saw a delightful little video of Pauline Hanson complaining about the paper bag she bought at WOOLIESORCOLES breaking and how she was SICKOFIT…

Those familiar with Pauline will know that she’s frequently SICKOFIT but in this case she was sick of having to pay 25c for a paper bag in the middle of cost of living crisis and she wanted WOOLIESORCOLES to get their act together and… do something… I think it might have been bring back free plastic bags or maybe it was creating lighter groceries so that her paper bag wouldn’t break. Or maybe she was suggesting that she didn’t like paper bags because they were the wrong colour.

Either way, the video seemed to demonstrate her inability to plan ahead. I mean, she admitted that because she was in Canberra she hadn’t taken her own bags to the supermarket… probably because she hadn’t realised that she’d be there for a few days and might need to do some shopping… And she also failed to think ahead about how the items she was putting in her bag might just be too heavy for the paper to…

No, I agree with Pauline… I’m sickofit too!! How dare we have to bring our own bags like my Nanna used to do with her string bags which seemed to last forever… We want to embrace nostalgia but not at the cost of being responsible for our own shopping trolleys!

Anyway, Pauline wasn’t the only politician who wanted to turn back time recently. Andrew Hastily stood beside a car older than the majority of voters and lamented the fact that we don’t have an auto industry. Jacinta Namijinpa Price complained that leaders don’t have the authority to stop people leaking anymore and she wants a leader who knows how to manage people who undermine the party with leaks. Both were concerned with leadership and lamented the days when the Liberal leader didn’t put up with people like them and would have stopped them from speaking out but now we have the sort of person who… sacks one and lets the other resign from the shadow ministry…

It has been suggested that both Hasty and Price are having their strings pulled by ADVANCE. You may have seen the odd ADVANCE ad popping up every few seconds or so, lamenting the past when energy prices were less and we used to make things in Australia. Some cynical souls have pointed out that much of the money from ADVANCE comes from the rich folk who moved much of our manufacturing to other countries to take ADVANTAGE of cheap labour and less “red tape” or as we call it “safety regulations”, but if there’s one thing that money buys you, it’s the right to be hypocritical.

One thing that does confuse me though is the fact that ADVANCE seems to be backing Labor’s “Future Made In Australia” policy. I mean they’d probably argue that they aren’t and what they’re saying is that they want a past made in Australia and Labor are just confused and anyway, look at the firms closing because of high energy prices which are caused by solar panels and not the fact that the ones closing are in areas that still predominantly use coal and gas.

It’s also been suggested that Price and/or Hasty may be taking advice from Tony Abbott. I’d find this odd because he’s the man who was tossed out by his own party after just two years as PM, so he’d hardly be the one to go to for advice. Then again, the Liberals do place a lot of faith in John Howard’s electoral wisdom and he’s the only living PM to lose his seat in a general election.

Whatever else at least we can rely on Pauline for the light relief. Walking through the door into the random cameraman waiting to film her, she complains about the cost of the paper bags while ignoring the fact that she had more than enough money to fill up the bag to breaking point.

  1. ”No, I agree with Pauline… I’m sickofit too!!”

Sick of self-serving politicians of any political party taking ”political donations” from entities that remain unidentified until too long after the election that their funding supports.

IT IS TIME FOR 24/7 REPORTING OF ALL ”POLITICAL DONATIONS”, ESPECIALLY FROM FOREIGN OWNED MULTINATIONAL CORPORATIONS, and their Executives responsible for authorising these bribes.

Sick of self-serving politicians escaping legal accountability for ripping off the Parliamentary Allowances Scheme, getting caught, then being slapped over the wrist with a wet tram ticket, rather than charged with the appropriate criminal matter and held accountable by the Courts.

Sick of city politicians thinking that the world is flat and you fall off the edge when you cross the city limits, so regional communities can be justifiably denied public infrastructure funding because the NOtional$ do not want the 21st century.

There really is no truth in the conservative belief that when you escape polluted, congested Sydney by crossing the Hawkesbury River bridge, that you fall off the edge of the flat world and get eaten by Bunyips, Drop Bears or Yowies lurking among the mangroves.

  2. We have been informed by Facebook post that Porelean Handjob of the Only Nutters Party will contaminate Tamworth NSW in the NOtional$ incumbency of New England to promote the political fortunes of a candidate who won a mere ten percent (10%) of the popular vote at the 2025 feral elections.

I wonder how much the victim aspiring politician paid for ”the honour” of losing another election in the name of FRWNJs.

I suggest that the word around the sale yards is that the likely retirement of Beetrooter, the NOtional$ representative in New England, will be retired to the long paddock to enjoy the benefits of a public ”retirement payment” from the Australian voters in recognition of his adultery, alcoholism, bigotry, corruption, deceit, misogyny & sexual harassment and falling down drunk while embracing a planter box. Certainly there will be many projects required by the electorate where the first draft never made it past the waste paper basket.

Also the word is that there is a candidate already pre-selected by the unelected NOtional$ political hacks that infest the air-conditioned metro NOtional$ head office as payback for many years of past political favours for a long standing family politician and member of the family of the aspiring pre-selected candidate.

Given that this candidate is currently being groomed by a NOtional$ toadie parachuted into the local council that elected the aspirant as Mayor, and the support of very senior past NOtional$ politicians still too active in politics, it seems to be a very long shot for the Only Nutters pre-selected candidate.

The only thing that appears certain is that the ”political donations” to the NOtional$ that influence the non-economic development of New England to maintain the predominant position of the interstate trucking corporations will remain in tact and local voters will continue to be neglected until they return to an INDEPENDENT Member.

REGIONAL INDEPENDENTS GET THINGS DONE FOR THEIR COMMUNITIES.

    What do NOtional$ do??
