Dear friends and readers,
In this season of twinkling lights and familiar carols, the world around us can sometimes feel heavier than the haze hanging over a hot December day. Troubled times remind us how fragile peace can be, and how precious the simple gifts of hope, health, and human connection truly are.
Yet Christmas has always been a quiet act of defiance against the dark – a reminder that light persists, that hope can be kindled, and that kindness has a way of traveling farther than we imagine.
So this year, our only wish is straightforward: that the new year ahead brings you moments of genuine joy, restored strength for those who are weary, and a renewed sense of possibility for us all. May bridges be mended where they’ve cracked, may fears ease their grip, and may we find small, everyday reasons to believe in better days.
Wherever you are, whatever this year has asked of you, know that you are not alone. Take a deep breath, share a smile if you can, and hold gently to the hope that 2026 can be kinder than the year soon closing.
From our hearts to yours – Merry Christmas, and here’s to a truly happy New Year.
With warmth and gratitude,
Michael and Carol

Thank you Michael, wordsmith that you are.
Have a bright day, I’ll spend mine in the garden, weeding, pruning and planting, then cook a whole cook for my Christmas dinner.
Thank you, Michael and Carol, for these thoughtful words and for providing this platform. In a time when so much public discussion feels rushed or hostile, AIMN remains a rare space for reflection, empathy, and honest conversation. Your work helps remind people that hope, kindness, and solidarity still matter. Wishing you both strength, good health, and a peaceful New Year, and thank you again for keeping this community alive and connected.
That’s lovely. Same to you, may the Boxing Day Test be a cracker, and here’s hoping for certain front-page obituaries soon.
Merry Xmas to all 😀

Merry Christmas one and all. May it be filled with love and good health.
Thanks to all here, distant but living in expression and some passion. May there be meaning, dialogue, diplomacy, resolution, peace, harmony enough. Best wishes again for a restful break, before raging on…
I read something last night that suggested there are celebrations and holidays scheduled at this time of the year in 18 religions around the globe. The point was that ‘Happy holidays’ is inclusive – not derogatory or woke. So happy religious celebration/holiday (in whatever form that takes) and may 2026 be far less vile than 2025 generally was.
Thanks again to Michael and Carol for the platform and may it continue far into the future.
Being my usual very cynical…weell, let’s leave it that.
May all have an enjoyable festive season. My enjoyment is trying to reduce my environmental footprint, whilst also seeking to lend a hand to the less fortunate.
Thanks for AIMN, Michael & Carol.
To quote Clakka,
“Thanks for AIMN, Michael & Carol.”
😊
Thank you. You’re kindness is overwhelming.
Merry Christmas to Michael and Carol and (almost) all here
Thank you, AC. Good to see you.
