He sold them a story to cover the lie.
They swallowed it whole – didn’t ask why.
Not every mud puddle deserves a splash… yet here we are, knee-deep in someone else’s lie.

There was an old president who got them to swallow some lawyers.
Filings and fury and noise piled high.
He buried the facts in a well-tailored lie.
They nodded along. They let it slide.
The humans believed every noise required a reply.

There was an old president who got them to swallow some files.
Boxes and secrets and things “under review,” said a source.
“Nothing to see here,” – they nodded it through.
Facts remain the leading cause of injury in certain environments – redacted, of course.

There was an old president who got them to swallow Epstein’s files.
Locked them away with cunning and guile.
“Old news,” he said – “not worth your while.”
They swallowed that too… but it lingered in piles.

There was an old president who got them to swallow tariffs.
Big, bold numbers. A beautiful plan.
The numbers said otherwise – not what he ran.
He blamed someone else.
They swallowed again…
… and circled right back to the lie.

There was an old president who got them to swallow Venezuela.
Oil in the distance. A very good reason.
He said it was drugs.
He said it was freedom.
They swallowed the story… every bit, season by season.

There was an old president who got them to swallow Iran.
A bigger stage. A louder distraction.
Missiles and maps and a promise of action.
He waved offshore – look over there!
Pay now, or pay later – still no plan for the action.

There was an old president who got them to swallow Cuba.
Cut. Scene. Reset. Roll camera again.
A new episode. Same plot. Same pen.
They swallowed the sequel like all the before…
…and back again came the Epstein files once more.
Still sitting there.
Still not gone.
Still waiting.
The wiser ones learned which silences travelled on.

There was an old president who got them to swallow a horse…
They swallowed the horse –
