Melania Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize? You’ve got to be kidding

A story so wild I thought I was imagining it, but I looked into it, and it’s crazy yet real.

Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna suggested on Fox News that Melania Trump could be in line for a 2025 Nobel Peace Prize nomination, mainly for her “role” in peace efforts tied to the Ukraine conflict.

“I think that Melania Trump might also have a nomination. I think she’s been very instrumental in discussions with Russia and also I think she’s going to be a key reason why we’re able to broker peace with Ukraine.”

The big highlight? A letter Melania wrote to Vladimir Putin, handed over by Donald Trump during a summit in Alaska. The letter urged Putin to protect children affected by the war, with some reports saying it indirectly referenced Ukrainian kids allegedly taken by Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy even thanked her for it on X, calling out her compassion.

Now, here’s the reality check: there’s no official confirmation Melania’s been formally nominated. Luna’s pushing the idea, saying Melania’s been “instrumental” in talks with Russia and could be key to brokering peace in Ukraine. But the Nobel Peace Prize nomination process is pretty open – anyone from lawmakers to professors can nominate, so it’s not a high bar. Plus, the talks in Alaska didn’t exactly stop the war; Russian attacks on Ukraine, one recently killing 23 in Kyiv, kept going. Critics, including some Norwegians, have scoffed at the idea, with three of the five Nobel Committee members already critical of Trump for other reasons, which doesn’t bode well for Melania either.

So, yeah, the buzz is real, but it’s mostly speculative hype from a Trump ally. Melania’s letter was a nice gesture, but a Nobel for it? That’s a stretch. The committee’s decision comes out October 10, 2025, so we’ll see.

PS: In case you’re wondering, social media in America melted down within minutes of the announcement.

  1. Malaria Trump?Might deserve some sort of award for being married to the world’s most notorious felon.Trump, like Putin or Netanyahu, devalues the entire human race by simply existing.

  2. Let’s face it. There’s reality which is consensual, a common agreement that whatever the subject, the great majority will find nothing too radical. In other words, the majority of the population within the 10% to 90% range of the Bell Curve.

And then there’s a type of reality believed by those that occupy the asymptotic regions, the outliers; Q-Anon and other conspiracists, the Republicans, MAGAs, Trumpaphilic nuthouse dwellers & etc.

America’s always been the land of the loonies, and majorly magnified with today’s media screaming out the madness 24/7.

  3. If she’d done the right thing and fed him enough Aqua Tofana late last year – or eight years before that – I’d support her nomination.

  4. Leefe, I would happily second that nomination..on the condition she slipped a few litres to the travesty she calls her husband.
Although by the look of him, she might already be doing it.We can only hope.
