Hi Everyone,
We’ve been thinking a lot about how best to serve you – our loyal readers – and we’ve made an important change.
Starting this week, we’re switching from individual post alerts to a single, well-curated weekly newsletter.
Instead of receiving up to seven emails a day when we publish frequently, you’ll now get one thoughtfully compiled digest every week. This will bring together our latest investigative reporting, independent analysis, and commentary in one clean, readable package.
(Moving forward, we would eventually like to change it from a weekly newsletter to a daily, but it is a bit more technical that simply ticking a different box. It’s in the pipeline.)
What this means for you:
- No action needed – Your subscription has been securely transferred to the new system. You’ll continue receiving our content automatically.
- A more predictable and enjoyable experience – One high-quality email per week, rather than a flood of notifications.
- Full control – You can still manage your preferences or unsubscribe at any time using the links at the bottom of every email.
We know many of you have been receiving a high volume of emails from us, and we want to respect your inbox while continuing to deliver the independent journalism you value.
Thank you for your incredible support. It’s what makes The Australian Independent Media Network possible. We’re really excited about this change and believe it will make staying informed with us much more pleasant.
We’ll see you in next week’s edition.
Warm regards,
The AIMN
PS: Excuse us if we have any teething problems.

sounds good Michael, thanks.
That is really good news
Thank you Elizabeth
Sounds great.
So I get overwhelmed with a massive pile of material once each week rather than the individual articles as they’re published? So long, and thanks for all the fish.
leefe, do what I do. Ignore the emails and come here anyway.
leefe, I’m guessing you didn’t read the bit that says it will eventually become a daily newsletter.
G’day Dear Michael and Team AIMN. You’ve been daily publishing more than some mainstream websites !
May I suggest that you still leave room to publish urgent news scoops as they arise, in between the AIMN Weekly and also take the opportunity to promo upcoming articles.
AIMN is renowned for it’s energy and feisty, fearless demeanour.
Congratulations to you all. Bring it on !!!!

Tess, from what I know of the system it would be possible to send an email for certain posts as well as the weekly.
Also – from what I know – there were a lot of complaints of “email fatigue” from the subscribers. The admin were receiving a ton of “We don’t like a heap of emails a day so we’re unsubscribing” messages so they had to look at alternatives.
What will happen I will see a Newspaper size email every week, scan it and then dump it if nothing jumps out at me. Personally not a good idea,I like my reading in small bites.
Dear Roswell, that’s great news. I understand about the email fatigue. Finding the right balance for our readers is the key.
Thanks for all your wonderful work and contributions.
Dear David Stakes, appreciate what you’re saying but please give the new deadline a chance.
Hi, Tess/David.
We can do both. I’ll be introducing an option for readers to choose how they receive emails: 1) weekly 2) when an article is published, or 3) receiving weekly plus receive an email on a ‘breaking news’ article.
It won’t happen overnight as we have to purchase dedicated software.
We had to change from the system we had, ie an email each time we published an article due to the number of complaints, which also led to a lot of people cancelling their subscriptions.
I would have preferred to move to a daily newsletter but the mob who were sending out the emails each time an article was published had no flexibility to change the system unless I paid them lots of money.
Same with the system handling the weekly emails. “If you want daily emails… show me the money.”
We’re being held over a barrel. The aim, of course, is to give our readers what they want and finding a way that suits everybody. It’s a work in progress.
Problem solved. Answer arriving in your inbox shortly.
Best wishes to all for the next stage of a great work in progress…!:)

So is the email I got from Grow noreply@growmailer.com legit?
Sounds good : it is only recently, after many years of subscribing, that I started getting email alerts to daily postings and I just have to delete them as whatever the case, I login to the main site on a daily basis.
Yes, that’s legit. It’s the name of the program that builds newsletters.
Hi, Terry. You now get a choice (see latest post).
Nobody told me there was a simple solution. 😁
That is great news.
Michael, can you send another copy of the weekly newsletter to my Gmail account please. And now it’s back to WoW with Uriah Heep’s Demons and Wizards playing in the background.
Hi, GL. I don’t know how to get into their system so I just emailed my copy to you.
