Democrats despise Trump… but largely endorse his unconstitutional, illegal, murderous bombing of Iran.
Almost a third of the 2020 Biden voters abandoned Kamala Harris in 2024. Polling shows biggest reason was Biden’s enabling of Israeli genocide in Gaza and Harris’ refusal to break with him over it.
Trump has done nothing in his first six months to stop the genocide. But nary a word of opposition from Democrats to possibly the cruelest, murderous policy in US history. One reason is the genocide was enabled under beloved Democratic President Biden.
Then Trump conspired with Israel to attack Iran by pretending to negotiate a nuclear agreement, lulling Iran into unpreparedness for the dastardly Israeli attack. When Trump initiated his own illegal, criminal bombing, Democrats were again largely silent, if not supportive.
Chuck Schumer, the most powerful Democrat in the Senate, supported Trump by demanding he be “tough on Iran” and make no moves toward peace without his puppet master, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s approval. Regarding the unconstitutional, illegal bombing, Schumer proclaimed, “The United States’ commitment to Israel’s security and defense must be ironclad as they prepare for Iran’s response.”
House Democratic Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries reiterated the Schumer talking points saying, “Our, commitment to Israel’s security is ironclad.”
Also remaining silent on the genocide and bombings were former Democratic presidents Clinton, Obama and Biden, along with failed Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris.
Seven months after one of their most disastrous elections in history, Democrats remain in denial; their subservience to war over peace is degrading their progressive base and future electability. There is a substantial tho largely silent, non-active peace base available for Democrats to regain their electoral competitiveness. That base wants societal uplift, not catastrophic wars. It wants US trillions invested in everything that makes life more humane and livable, not weapons and policies that kill millions in senseless wars. They do become active on Election Day, and it’s not to support genocide and illegal war-enabling Democrats.
Strongly opposing Trump’s unhinged, vengeful domestic policies is laudable. But Democrats supporting Trump’s more unhinged foreign policies is contemptable. Songwriting peace advocate Pete Seeger summed up the Democrats’ dilemma well: “When will they ever learn… when will they ever learn?”

Be honest. Both Democrats under Biden and Republicans under Trump see Israel as “Their “ foothold in the Middle East. There can be no other reason that both political parties turn a blind eye to the slaughter and land grabs Israel has perpetrated.
More to the point : why are governments all over the western world just sitting by , watching and ‘humouring’ Netanyahu and Donald Trump when polls suggest that this level of atrocity is not popular with large numbers of people?
Yeah nah, another…. US perspective which follows domestic political narratives and ignores geopolitical players, especially Putin’s relationship with Netanyahu, and Saudis in MBS with whom Netanyhau has been sorting the Abraham Accords.
Also what is avoided are the close cultural or family ties between Israel and Russia with former Soviet satellites and republics too; 2+ million Russian emigrés or 20%+ of Israel’s population with too many allied with West Bank settlers (often US disapora) RWNJs.
An election several years ago, think 2018, according to The Times of Israel, had Netanyahu & Likud promoting themselves as allies of Trump, and Putin who avoids criticism?
It is being suggested in some of the media that the UK High Court have approved the ongoing sale of British manufactured components for F-35 fighters, to Israel.
In fact, the High Court were being asked to decide on a particular issue: whether the UK “must withdraw from a specific multilateral defence collaboration” because of the prospect that some UK-manufactured parts may be supplied to Israel and used in contravention of international law in the conflict in Gaza.”
In an explanation of the doctrine of the separation of powers in action, the Court said that “Under our constitution, that acutely sensitive and political issue is a matter for the executive which is democratically accountable to parliament and ultimately to the electorate, not for the courts.”
In so saying they are undoubtedly correct, but the fact remains that people are still being bombed and killed in Gaza on a daily basis and while governments, the UN and various courts point out why they cannot stop the killing they fail to present any solutions. Even the International Criminal Court who have arrest warrants out on various belligerents on both sides, including Netanyahu, are seeing their judges personally penalised and their assets frozen by the Trump administration because Trump doesn’t like judges and dismisses the rule of international law as being irrelevant.
Until we can break the US veto in the UN Security Council it seems that there is nothing the world can do to stop this genocide. What is most annoying is that every time there is a voice from the people as was the case at the Glastonbury Festival, everybody wags a finger and says that this action was most inappropriate and smacks of antisemitism and yet, the slaughter of men women and children and the use of starvation as a weapon of war, is OK ?
drivel just democrats looking for excuses for not giving kamela the support women need in the usa. They should have declared biden senile and made her president that may have overcome the sexism that saw an incompetent man defeat two competent women and lose to another incompetent man.
