Continuing the run of change we’ve experienced at The AIMN over the past month, more forced change has been thrust upon us.
After a smooth run of eleven years at The AIMN, in the last month we’ve had to migrate to a larger server, change the site’s theme (template), and now the worst one of all: we suffered a fatal flaw (too hard to explain) that has rendered the old AIMN sterile. That is, we cannot publish new articles on that site.
But not to worry. We’ll rebuilt the site.
And that’s where you are now, dear reader.
The old AIMN will remain up for approximately two years, but all new articles will be published here. It will be a long job, but we also hope to republish a lot of the articles from the old AIMN here.
You’ll notice the dearth of articles on our new site; that is because we only went live two days ago and we are still rebuilding.
All of our articles on the old site can still be accessed and people can still comment on them.
Welcome to the ‘new’ AIMN.
Dear reader, we need your support
Independent sites like The AIMN provide a platform for public interest journalists. From its humble beginning in January 2013, The AIMN has grown into one of the most trusted and popular independent media organisations.
One of the reasons we have succeeded has been due to the support we receive from our readers through their financial contributions.
With increasing costs to maintain The AIMN, we need this continued support.
Your donation – large or small – to help with the running costs of this site will be greatly appreciated.

My apologies if people couldn’t access the site (me included). A two-hour phone call to our new security company sorted it out … eventually. They’d gone a bit overboard with their default settings.
I guess the safest way to protect a website is not to let anybody access it. 🤦🏻♂️
MT: Left a comment. Seems the new system didn’t like it as it is gone.
Michael:
Thanks. That explains why I kept getting Security alerts when I tried to access a few articles yesterday evening.
At least we haven’t been hacked.
Fred, I can’t find it out the ‘back’. That one is a genuine mystery.
Could someone please do me a favour?
Add a comment, and tell me if you see an “edit” option after it has been published.
Happy New Year!
And editing works
Happy New Year back at ya, AC.
Good to see you here.
Here’s another trick, AC:
To italicise a word or words put one of these – * before and after the word or words.
If you want bold text, then you place two of them before and after.
Thank you!
That might stop me from capitalising words for emphasis! Which can be interpreted as SHOUTING!
