The man behind the rant

Someone looks happy with himself (Image from YouTube : Video uploaded by Sky News Australia)

One would expect that a Memorial Day post from the President of the United States would pay respect for the fallen who sacrificed their lives for their country, and gratitude for those who still serve.

If we expected the current President to do the same, then our expectations were unrealistic. Instead of respect, he dished up this unhinged rant:

What sort of president would post that? Only Trump.

But why would he?

Because the man is a walking, talking contradiction: a childish bully with a vindictive streak, wrapped in a narcissistic shell that leaves no room for respect.

His immaturity is staggering. He throws tantrums over minor setbacks, stomps around like a toddler denied a toy, yet his bullying would ensure no one dares laugh. He belittles people (including world leaders) in meetings, mocks ideas with a sneer and with words dripping with contempt. If you cross him, even unintentionally, his vindictiveness kicks in – think public humiliation with a smirk, while he revels in their discomfort. He wields his authority like a weapon. He doesn’t just hold grudges – he nurtures them, plotting petty revenges while gloating over the misery he causes.

Narcissism also defines Trump. Every success is his doing; every failure, someone else’s fault. He craves admiration, demands constant praise while dismissing others’ contributions. “I did this beautiful thing,” he boasts, ignoring the sweat and tears of those beneath him. Respect? Nonexistent. It’s a foreign concept. He ignores boundaries, mock personal struggles, and treats people like pawns in his ego-driven game.

Hopefully that explains – only briefly – why he posts unhinged rants.

  1. Thanks – you summed him up in a couple of paragraphs.
And yet there are still people who believe he is God’s gift to the free world – yes I know some of them here in Aus.

  2. Trump is no worse than the rest, just more blatant.

Just reading about how the ABC censored yet another Gaza story, so our problems are close to home on this one.

  3. Terry, I’m not sure if this is the one referred to.
In an article published today on P&I, written by the son of a Palestinian refugee, the author notes (in part): Just today (27 May), an interview I did with our national broadcaster, the ABC, about Australia’s legal obligation to meet Israel’s ongoing genocide and its deliberate starvation of Palestinians with strong action, was quietly removed from its online news site.

  4. a fair judgement of the people of the USA who are educated to admire the persona of trump as desirable and not educated to be able to understand the reality of the USA, its history and its failings.
With that belief he cannot lose but in reality the damage will be terminal for his country and may be good for the world.
    ps
yes, Paul, the ABC i has reached the average in content, below average in interviews.

  5. If Musk has supposedly quit the Department of Grift Everything how long will it be before The Orange Child either crawls back Elmo’s arse or decides to get some sort of monetary revenge?
