To Members of the United States Congress and the Vice President,
I write to you as an observer from outside the United States, but not outside the reach of its power. What happens in Washington does not stay in Washington. It reverberates across the globe.
A recent public statement by President Donald Trump, circulated widely from his Truth Social account, contains language and threats relating to Iran that are alarming in both tone and substance. The message invokes destruction of infrastructure, uses inflammatory and profane language, and concludes with a phrase that appears to praise a religious figure in a context that is, at best, deeply incongruous and, at worst, dangerously provocative.
Taken together, this is not normal rhetoric for the holder of the most powerful office in the world.
Many across the world are beginning to ask a question that would once have seemed unthinkable: whether the behaviour being displayed is that of a rational leader, or something far more dangerous. In blunt terms – terms now increasingly heard in public discourse – there is a growing fear that the President is acting like a madman.
The concern here is not political disagreement. It is the apparent abandonment of restraint, clarity, and responsibility in matters that could have immediate and catastrophic international consequences. Words at this level are not symbolic – they can signal intent, trigger reactions, and escalate conflict.
If such rhetoric is not constrained by the institutions designed to provide oversight, the consequences could be severe. Miscalculation or escalation in relation to Iran risks drawing multiple nations into conflict, destabilising an already fragile region, and placing countless civilian lives in jeopardy. It risks disrupting global energy markets, triggering economic shocks far beyond the United States, and increasing the likelihood of direct military confrontation between major powers. In the worst case, it opens the door to a broader and more devastating war whose impacts would be felt worldwide.
The United States Constitution anticipates moments when the conduct of a President raises serious questions about their fitness to discharge the duties of the office. It provides lawful mechanisms to respond: the power of impeachment vested in Congress, and the provisions of the 25th Amendment, which empower the Vice President and Cabinet to act where incapacity or inability is evident.
These are not partisan tools. They are safeguards.
No one outside your system can invoke them. Only you can.
History will not judge this moment solely by what was said, but by what was done – or not done – in response. Silence or inaction in the face of credible concern carries its own consequences.
The world is watching the United States not for perfection, but for proof that its institutions still function as intended: that power is checked, that accountability exists, and that no individual is beyond the reach of the law.
I urge you to consider, with the utmost seriousness, whether this moment calls for the use of those constitutional safeguards.
Respectfully,
Michael Taylor

The Pentagon, CIA, FBI have not done their clear duty to save their nation and the world. They must. Donald Bowelburst will befoul us all…
Thank you Michael, please send the article to both Ambassadors, here and there. Why is no-one talking impeachment ?
What may be even more frightening than Trump’s personal and political onanism is the fact that America – and the world seems to lack the collective will to do anything about it. At the least the UN General Assembly needs to convene an emergency meeting. Trump is the Hitler of our time. He is the Power of One.
Thanks Michael, excellent work. One thing I wanted to point out was that many Tweets and Truths are clearly not written by him. This is one of those; he spells strait “straight” and there is the correct use of an apostrophe for a letter omission, Trump doesn’t use apostrophes correctly nor know the word. Overall, grammatically this post is sound. I’m sure he has seen this Truth even if he was asleep when it was actually posted, but the fact that he has a media team who think that this was an appropriate post at any time, but especially on Easter Sunday is even more terrifying than Trump himself ranting and posting on his own.
Felicity, he put his name to it. That’s good enough for me.
Dear Felicity. Trump writes his own bilge. And he knows how to spell Fuckin’.
Apparently the odds on or calls for impeachment have risen from 25% to 35% after starting an unannounced war, causing socio-economic chaos in the Mid East inc allies and the US, while stating out loud that he wishes to commit a war crime; following Putin’s example terrorising and bombing civilian infrastructure.
However, this is not just about Trump, but how US middle class elites can go missing allowing <0.001% to dictate and take advantage inc. fossil fuel Koch, MAGA Tanton and Murdoch misinformation media Networks, supported or not by demographic electoral powder of a heaving mass of middle aged and older voters.
Parallel universe are the three amigos Netanyahu, Putin and Trump, with a supporting cast including Kushner, Witkoff, Murdoch’s FoxNews, Miller, Vance, Ellison, Musk, Thiel, Orbán et al
The latter Orbán is in the news with an election, GRU/Kremlin inspired stunts and US VP JD Vance visiting which has outraged the EU, many Hungarians and Americans, not just for foreign interference, but supporting an ally of Putin and. Netanyahu.
Tony Abbott also visited or snuck in to support via Danube Institute event according to Hungarian Conservative ‘Budapest Family Formation Summit Warns of Uncertain Civilizational Future’.
How does Abbott get away with visiting a pro-Russian, anti-western and anti-EU swamp, while his ‘international advisor’ has disappeared himself, but nada from Oz media on being potentially compromised and being a security risk?
It is more urgent than using Constitutional safeguards. They need revolution to drag that moron out of the White House before he destroys the world tomorrow.
I can anticipate a day, not too far away, when the MAGA ideology will be viewed in the same way as we now view the NAZI era.
The use of the term MAGA will be banned, merchandise and silly hats removed from retail locations and all references to Trump will be removed from buildings and other public places – in particular the ‘Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts’ where the addition of the Trump name is even now considered as Graffiti. Currency with the Trump signature will be withdrawn as legal tender and will become collectors’ items.
We could hasten the process!!
Yeah. But the consequences of this Trumpian stain will linger on for years to come.
Even as Trump pops his clogs, there’s a political and corporate regime (including the Techbros) that have significantly profited by it.
Never moreso than in this Iran war circus where a separate reality drives the Wall Street computers into a blissful hysteria of reaping short/long rapid buy/sell profits off Trump’s designer inconsistencies.
