Scotland, the land of lefties, lochs, kilts, and coos (that’s cows to you non-Gaelic speakers), is buzzing – or rather, bagpiping – with controversy. The Scots, known for their love of haggis and their left-leaning politics, have a new tradition: despising Donald Trump. It’s as ingrained as a dram of whisky on a cold Highland night. The tipping point? Trump’s ban on Irn-Bru – Scotland’s neon-orange lifeblood – at his golf courses, citing its carpet-staining menace. The outrage was seismic, with kilts flapping in fury from Edinburgh to Aberdeen. “He’s no’ welcome here!” roared a kilted protester, spilling Irn-Bru defiantly on a fairway.
Yet, across the Atlantic, MAGA enthusiasts are flooding social media with tales of adoring Scottish crowds, eagerly awaiting a glimpse of their golden-haired hero. “Thousands lined the streets!” boasts @MAGA_Patriot1776, who’s never left Texas. “Scotland loves Trump!” chirps @RealFreedomCowboy, whose closest encounter with a kilt is a Halloween costume. These armchair ambassadors paint a picture of tartan-clad fans chanting “MAGA,” oblivious to the reality of Irn-Bru boycotts and protest banners reading “Trump’s a Wee Sassenach.”
The truth? Scotland’s affection for Trump is as mythical as the Loch Ness Monster riding a unicorn. Locals are more likely to toast his departure with a haggis-stuffed Irn-Bru can than cheer his arrival. So, while MAGA dreams of a Scottish love fest, the Scots are busy plotting their next anti-Trump ceilidh – complete with stained carpets and zero Trump fans.

Clearly, not only are the Scots an incredibly welcoming, friendly and hospitable people, their national hatred and rage against that disgusting, remorselessly corrupt, misogynistic predator, pathological liar, convicted criminal and predatory paedophile, Donald Trump, is not only 100% justified, it PROVES that the good people of Scotland have a huge level of good judgement, a high national intelligence quota and outstanding foresight that, evidently, the idiotic manipulated Trump-supporting intellectual midgets in America will NEVER have!

There are none so blind as MAGA Americans who keep their eyes closed when they see anything that contradicts their personal opinions.
Even my good Friend Blind Freddie can see that the only people cheering TACO Trumpery in Scotland got off the plane with the with the adulterous, demented, fornicating, geriatric, misogynistic, convicted felon, four times bankrupted, egomaniac masquerading as POTUS.
I read a letter in the Traveller section of the SMH from a guy who’d travelled without issue to the USA dozens of times; his most recent trip cancelled by email from US Homeland Security hours before his flight departed, despite him having a valid visa etc. He put it down to being fingered for having written a few anti-Trump posts in social media.
The mind boggles at the hundreds (thousands?) of people employed to scroll through the planet’s social pages searching for anything negative about the Orange Bloat masquerading as a functioning human nominally at the helm of the Good Ship America; ready with the digital censor’s pen to strike them out and deny entry into the country that once prided itself on free speech and heterogeneity of belief & attitude.
Hah! I assume that none of the good folk who comprise The AIMN’s community of scribblers intend travelling there anytime soon?
