ACOSS Media Release

“Acts of racism, hate and discrimination are abhorrent and have no place in our society. ACOSS respects the right to peaceful assembly but we reject in strongest terms all forms of racism, fascism, hate speech and bigotry.

Acts of hatred and violence are unequivocally condemned and ACOSS stands in solidarity with all communities affected.

Australia’s diversity is a great strength, not a threat and today’s rallies should not be a platform to divide communities or spread misinformation about migration and its impacts.

There is no place in Australia for ideology that targets people because of who they are, where they come from or what they believe. We call on all political leaders to condemn hate without equivocation.

Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of all people who feel intimidated, harmed or targeted by today’s events. ACOSS extends our love and solidarity to all affected.”

Dear reader, we need your support

Independent sites such as The AIMN provide a platform for public interest journalists. From its humble beginning in January 2013, The AIMN has grown into one of the most trusted and popular independent media organisations.

One of the reasons we have succeeded has been due to the support we receive from our readers through their financial contributions.

With increasing costs to maintain The AIMN, we need this continued support.

Your donation – large or small – to help with the running costs of this site will be greatly appreciated.

  1. Anyone have any idea of the crowd sizes for the “March for Australia” rabble? It’s somewhat possible that there were, as it has been claimed, 290,000, but I find that figure very to hard to believe. I reckon it was barely 100k all up.

  2. Amen to all that Cassandra. However, Australia doesn’t need a dual nationality religio-political lobbyist representing the interests of a foreign nation to tell us how to manage diversity of opinion in our community. There are sufficient punitive provisions within Australia’s Racial Discrimination Act for the Courts to act on.

  3. Doubt it was even that many, but…. for every marcher how many thousands at home, especially regions, would agree with them more broadly?

Includes public figures, especially in media, who have withdrawn public support, but still dog whistle immigrants, population growth, refugees, the great replacement, international education etc.

Target is always elites, ‘the other’, multiculturalism, urban centres, globalisation, Soros conspiracy, the great replacement, miscegenation etc.; even though the latter are anti-semitic dog whistles?
