What is the point of the anglocentric intelligence-sharing boys club, Five Eyes?
It is now proven to be of little relevance insofar as Australia is concerned. We were not forewarned of either Israel’s or the USA’s impending deathly, illegal bombings of Iran.
Despite our membership, Australia now finds itself yet again compromised and vulnerable to the dangerous whims of a petulant bully who cares nothing for due process or the rules of law and war, including the Geneva Convention.

In his article in the San Antonio Express-News, Sig Christenson pointed out that one of the B-2 Spirit Stealth bunker busters that bombed Iranian nuclear sites at Natanz, Isfahan and Fordow ( officially Shahid Ali Mohammadi Nuclear Facility ) was piloted by a woman.
Former Fox TV host, Minister Hegseth, you will recall, was a National Guardsman who served in both Iraq and Afghanistan and spent time as a guard at Guantanamo Bay.
Hegseth doesn’t believe in women being in the military and it may even be that he doesn’t believe in women, period.

US Private Arms Profiteers Big Four Linked Five Eyes, Pine Gap
The biggest private arms profiteers for the US, remain the ‘Gang of Four,’ Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon, part of RTX Corporation. Whilst headquartered in the US all four also have large footprints here and all call Australia home.
All four are inextricably involved with Pine Gap and thus Five Eyes, so we are feeding, blooding, aiding and abetting war crimes on Gaza, but we also supply equipment and technology used in other theatres of wars, including Ukraine.
Despite the obfuscatory statements of our politicians, Australia IS making a lot of moolah out of the genocide of the Gazan citizenry and West Bank killings.

Let us not forget those hostages who have been killed by Netanyahu’s bungled bombing/drone raids, aside from those killed by Hamas. Australia plays a role in those killings as well, via Pine Gap.

Bibi’s Gaza War a Distraction From Criminal Charges at Home
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in its attempt to cling to power and their nemesis, Benjamin Netanyahu, who is desperately embedding Israel into a needless war with Gaza ( and others ) in order to distract from and delay the serious criminal and fraud charges against him that have been deferred, or delayed because ostensibly as leader, he has a war to wage. Pathetic is too pathetic a word.
He clearly has more love of himself and his wife Sara, who also faces charges (and these cases involve evidence from prominent Australians) than he has for the State of Israel and its people.
In retaliation for the (about) 1200 deaths caused by Hamas on October 7, Netanyahu and his Far Reich have killed (about) 63,000 people in the Gaza strip.
Moreover, Netanyahu is desperate to deflect blame from himself for the brutal and lethal execution of the October 7th 2023 invasion by Hamas on Israel, whilst Bibi was asleep at the wheel.
How Did Hamas Outwit Israel and Bibi, ‘Mr Security’?
Hamas was doing what Hamas does – killing Israelis. Where was Bibi? Where were the crack Israel Defense Forces? How did Hamas outwit Israel? Outwit Bibi, ‘Mr Security’ himself?
Netanyahu, effectively invited Hamas into a vulnerable zone that was virtually unarmed. So much for the Iron Dome. Did Mossad take the day off? Maybe.
Did Israel’s entire military machine go AWOL? What went wrong? What happened to the world’s alleged most sophisticated intelligence nation on the day of Red October?
To Whom is Pine Gap Allegiant?
And what was happening at Pine Gap when the Hamas atrocities took place? Who was on duty, the US or Australia? To whom is Pine Gap allegiant? Does Pine Gap/Australia share any blame for what happened on that October 7?
Under the telling headline ‘Who are the Five Eyes loyal to?’ in Pearls and Irritations Who are the Five Eyes Loyal To? the erudite Richard Broinowski, put it in plain english and plain sight. In November 2023, he wrote:
“American intelligence personnel are predominant at Pine Gap and throughout the Five Eyes network. This ensures that American views prevail about threats to world security, which become threats to Australias security. The mind-set of our intelligence community is constantly reinforced by independent second-tier policy assessment outfits such as ASPI in Australia, CSIS (Centre for Strategic and International studies) and CNAS (the Centre for a New American Security) in the United States. All have solid military-industrial backing.
It is not surprising that the Albanese government finds it hard to make independent foreign policy judgements that go against the consensus, or against the Murdoch media with its dependence on defence industry advertising.”
Writing only a few weeks after the merciless Hamas attacks, Broinowski continues:
“… Since 7 October 2023, and possible earlier, Pine Gap is also suspected of providing the Israeli Defence Force with data on Hamas rocket launch sites in the Gaza strip…”
It is important to share some other points of Broinowski’s authoritative and astute observations on the history of Pine Gap and Five Eyes that bear upon us to this day:
“… Not that Washington policies have always been wholeheartedly endorsed among the lesser members of the Five Eyes. The disclosure in 1975 by ministers in Whitlams Labor government of Pine Gaps CIA connections was hardly popular in Washington, and led to rumours that his dismissal was partly arranged by the United States. New Zealands refusal since 1984 to allow nuclear-powered or armed warships to berth at its ports caused irritation in Washington, as did New Zealands 2021 warning that it would not allow the Five Eyes to dictate the terms of its relations with China. Canadas decision in 2003 not to send troops to the invasion of Iraq, and the disclosure that a Canadian Royal Naval officer was spying for Moscow in 2012, were also sources of annoyance. Canadas breach of cordial relations with India in October 2023 over Indias alleged involvement in the extra-judicial killing in Vancouver of Kurdistan extremist Hardup Singh Nijjar has interested the other Five Eyes, but is hardly likely to distract the group from their central preoccupation with their traditional enemies.
The fact is that the overwhelming presence of US intelligence officers and agencies in the Five Eyes, their fixation on China, and the backing they receive from dozens of America-centred military contractors including Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin, leads to a narrow view among the Five Eyes about who the main enemy is…”
Pine Gap Employees Working in Toxic Environment
Not only is this common currency within intelligence circles in Australia and overseas, but also AIMN is aware that the supplying of such data for Israel’s illegal and genocidal operations in Gaza particularly, has tested both the patience and conscience of some Pine Gap/Five Eyes employees and suppliers, and we’re told, some American personnel.
The AIMN was told:
“…we’re working in a toxic environment at the moment. There’s a bit of bad blood between the yanks and the aussies… even some of the yanks don’t like what’s happening…”
Indeed, how does one wake up with a clear conscience and any sense of humanity, decent public service, daily life, or look a child in the Five Eyes, knowing full well that data you have provided to Netanyahu’s Far Reich has contributed to the murders of tens of thousands of innocent civilians and caused the starving of thousands others, many of them babies and children deprived of just about every clause in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
No employee should be placed in this untenable position. The ultimate responsibility for Australia’s complicity falls upon successive Australian governments and more immediately, the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Labor Government and for what masquerades as a Coalition Opposition.
We can no longer claim to be unwitting or unintentional accomplices to other governments.
Five Eyes, Pine Gap, Port of Darwin – Australia’s Good at Sellouts
We are not equal partners in Pine Gap and we should never have ceded control to a foreign power, but we have a penchant for such things, think the Port of Darwin. On October 13, 2015, in an unfathomable breach of security and bureaucratic idiocy, the Northern Territory Government passed a special Act and sold a 99-year lease for the Port of Darwin to a Chinese company, worse, for peanuts, a mere $506 million. We seem to be good at sellouts.
Mind the Pine Gap Five Eyes Wide Shut
Further, the use of secretive prime military real estate in Australia that is mostly serviced and virtually ‘owned’ by America, the joint defence space research facility known as Pine Gap and predominantly staffed by Americans, means that Australia now finds itself a complicit enabler and colluding partner in illegal strikes – those ordered by Netanyahu, on Iran, Palestine, Syria and hourly upon Gaza and the West Bank.

Walkley Award winner Peter Cronau’s 2017 Background Briefing episode on ABC Radio National entitled, The Base: Pine Gap’s role in US Warfighting provides us with extraordinary insight into Australia’s role in America’s (and thus ours) various theatres of war.
It is sickening to learn of the walls of secrecy, deception, disinformation, misinformation and dystopian propaganda that is contemptuous of unwitting Australian citizenry and tragically, successive Australian governments as well, who are perennial intelligence and military cuckolds when it comes to Pine Gap.
Australia Vassal State of the US

US Parasitic On Validity of Israel’s Arguments
As Marko Milanovic, Professor of Public International Law at the University of Reading School of Law succinctly wrote in the European Journal of International Law:
“Like Israel’s use of force before it, this use of force by the United States is, in my view, quite clearly illegal – a breach of the prohibition on the use of force in Article 2(4) of the UN Charter. This is simply because the legality of the US use of force is parasitic on the validity of Israel’s arguments justifying its use of force.”
Let’s back up and have a simplistic shufti at the devil’s triangle that is Israel, Iran and the USA, or rather their corrupt regimes. Let us resist condemning entire nations because of their deceptive illegal, corrupt, self-serving feral leadership and their factoids to justify never ending wars.
Australians Know Sting of War Crimes, Think Iraq War
We Australians know only too well the lingering sting of such war crimes promulgated in a nation’s name and a nation’s shame.
Think the invasion of Iraq in 2003, the formation of the American spawned Coalition of the Willing and Australia’s subservient role in mere hearsay and pretext that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.
Both the Iraq and now the so-called ‘12 Day’ Iran wars were/are based on ex ante assessments.
It is heartening that in the face of overwhelming odds, Australians are joinng with our universal brothers and sisters to protest against the genocidal war on Palestine, including it must be said, by many Israelis; many Jews.
There is little doubt that it is the Australian people, first and foremost, who have forced our own vacillating Prime Minister to announce the nation’s support for a Palestinian State.
The role of Foreign Minister Penny Wong and her steadfast political countenance pursuing humanitarian and social justice for Palestine, as well as a political/diplomatic solution and resolution rather than a military one, signalled an earlier hope she would press for a Palestine state both at home and abroad. Certainly, her role stands her in good stead for prime leadership.
Their joint statement this week was robust, braver language calling out Netanyahu – as well as Hamas:
“… Australia will recognise the State of Palestine at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in September, to contribute to international momentum towards a two-state solution, a ceasefire in Gaza and release of the hostages…
…The Netanyahu Government is extinguishing the prospect of a two-state solution by rapidly expanding illegal settlements, threatening annexation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and explicitly opposing any Palestinian state…
… the world is seizing the opportunity of major new commitments from the Palestinian Authority, including to reform governance, terminate prisoner payments, institute schooling reform, demilitarise and hold general elections. The Palestinian Authority has also restated its recognition of Israel’s right to exist. The President of the Palestinian Authority has reaffirmed these commitments directly to the Australian Government…
… Australia’s position is predicated on the commitments we have received from the Palestinian Authority. We will continue to work with the international community to hold the Palestinian Authority to its commitments and to encourage normalised relations between Israel and its neighbours.
… The commitments by the Palestinian Authority are strengthened by the Arab League’s unprecedented demand for the terrorist organisation Hamas to end its rule in Gaza and hand over its weapons…
…Hamas continues to damage the prospects of a two-state solution and rejects Israel’s right to exist. Hamas must release the hostages cruelly taken on October 7, 2023 immediately, unconditionally and with dignity. The Australian Government has consistently made clear there can be no role for Hamas in a Palestinian state.
… Australia is further compelled by the Netanyahu Government’s disregard of the international community’s calls, and its failure to comply with its legal and ethical obligations in Gaza. That Anthony Albanese and Penny Wong’s statement was made mere hours after Netanyahu called a self-serving, cocky, big dick press conference solely for foreign journalists.
In this presumptuous conference a desperate Netanyahu failed in trying to justify the atrocities he ordered on Gaza. In a disingenuous attempt to align himself with Australia, he was quoted by the ABC:
“They know what they would do if right next to Melbourne or right next to Sydney you had this horrific attack.
“I think they would do it, at least what we’re doing – probably, maybe not as efficiently and as precisely as we’re doing it.”
Netanyahu couldn’t help himself. In typical big swinging dick politics, he had to demean Australia whilst boasting of his atrocities.
Mere hours later, Australia announced it would vote for a Palestinian state.
Pop it back in your trousers, Bibi.

Do you feel sometimes that, like Alice, we are being dragged down a Trumpian rabbit hole where nothing makes any sense anymore ?
Last night (Thursday 14 August 2025) I tried to make sense of an interview on ABC 7.30 with Sarah Ferguson and US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckerbee.
I came away with my head spinning and after sleeping on it, I have formed the view that the irrationality of Huckerbee can be explained only in terms of his absolute loyalty to Donald Trump which partially explains some of the contradictions in his views and the fact that he sees Australia as a naughty toddler who should just do what he/she is told and not get involved in matters that are best left to Uncle Sam.
Huckerbee is annoyed that Australia should seek to recognise the Palestinian people as a nation state. His objection seems to be that we didn’t first seek permission from Uncle Sam and that we didn’t consult with the US Ambassador to Australia [who at time of writing does not, in fact, exist]. Like his boss, he would probably like to call on the National Guard to takeover discipline in Australia as they are evidently doing in Washington DC – national sovereignty in his understanding means America First .
Huckerbee sees no contradiction whatsoever in the POTUS expending time, energy and influence in holding meetings with Vladimir Putin with a view to bringing the Ukraine war to a conclusion whilst his Nobel Peace Prize seeking President completely ignores the genocide taking place in Palestine using US supplied armaments and sophisticated weaponry against a civilian population : according to Huckerbee ‘it is for the government of Israel to resolve problems in its own self defence.’
Self defence having taken on a definition from Through the Looking Glass and only discernible by those who followed Trump down the rabbit hole – When I use a word,’ Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, ‘it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.’
Sarah Ferguson is to be congratulated for not cutting this imbecile off and reverting to a more comprehensible repeat of Bluey after an interview that insulted the intelligence of the Australian people and merely echoed Trumpian platitudes that were at best wafer thin and at worst made no sense whatsoever.

On ABC 7:30 Report, Huckabee’s platitudes were replete with lies and misrepresentations, typical of the rolling ball of BS coming out of USA, most particularly the T-Rump regime, and Netanyahu’s Israel.
It is well known & widely promulgated that USA progressively ignores and undermines the UN increasingly for years. It’s vetos against action on its ‘partner’, Israel have been increasing since both their refusal to affirm the Rome Statute, through to ignoring and breaching the Geneva Convention (on War), ignoring the findings and proclamations & orders of the UN, the ICJ and ICC, and more that that, accusing them of corruption, and imposing sanctions, including visa & banking blockages on their officers, and killing operators of their relief agencies in Israel/Palestine, and stating unequivocally that it would refuse visas for entry of any official of any Palestinian (putative or actual) govt. And their many decades (in the extreme 130+ years) of ongoing covert and overt armed & political incursions into almost every state of the ‘Levant’ and ‘Fertile Crescent’. In that regard, the ‘partners’, America & Israel can only be seen as the world’s standout ‘Rogue States’ (after Britain, France, Germany et al increasingly vacated the space).
Huckabee says the likes of, “America doesn’t feel isolated.” “America is surprised, disappointed and disgusted with the pronouncements” (of France, Britain, Canada, Australia, NZ & Germany(?)). “The pronouncement(s) couldn’t have come at a worse time, undermining and ruining America & Israel’s negotiations and strategy for peace between the parties.” What a load of utter bullshit. It’s as if USA and Israel in their attendances at the UNGA for years have been preferring to ignore the ongoing and mounting concerns and resolutions of now a vast majority of the world’s states, whilst together they arrogantly promulgate and run their hostile & brutal line of ‘takeover of the Middle East’.
Most recently, and before Huckabee’s drivel spouted at ABC 7:30’s interview, many matters, including the following ought to have penetrated his and the T-Rump & Netanyahu regimes’ thick skulls:
