Trump is seeking an exit from his lost war against Iran. US bases are being systematically damaged in 6 neighboring nations. Israel is suffering the most serious damage in its 78 year existence with no end in sight. Both the Gulf States and Israel are running out of defensive weapons. So is the US. But Iran is not running out of missiles used to pummel nearby US facilities and especially Israel. The more urgent quagmire facing Trump is the impending economic collapse from the cutoff of Middle East oil due to his criminal as well as senseless war to destroy Iran.
Rejecting calls from several countries, likely encouraged by Trump, for a negotiated ceasefire, Iranian Defense Minister Abbas Araghchi said there will be no negotiations with America until the root causes of the war are addressed. They include an absolute guarantee that the US will never attack Iran again, will take responsibility for the war, end draconian sanctions and leave the Middle East in peace.
Araghchi argued the current attack, like the first one last June 13, was conducted during fake negotiations to keep Iran unprepared for a dastardly sneak attack. That worked last June but not last month. Now the US has been caught flatfooted by Iran’s devastating counter offensive and desperately seeks an off ramp. Araghchi made clear there is no off ramp short of capitulation to its reasonable demands.
With the US and world economy headed into economic freefall, Trump called an emergency news conference to shore up the collapsing stock market. He blathered endlessly how he’s winning bigly and will soon prevail against a demonic Iran seeking to take over the entire Middle East. No one believed a word he said because not one word made any sense or contained an element of truth.
Trump’s attack on Iran may be the most self-destructive attack on a country since Hitler invaded Russia nearly 85 years ago. Forty-six years ago the US bankrolled the Iraq invasion of Iran. During 8 long years Iran suffered over half million casualties but ultimately fought Iraq to a draw. Araghchi alluded to that stamina and determination to prevail against the Yankee invader when he indicated to Trump that ‘no unconditional surrender, no ceasefire, no negotiations for you.’
Will Trump listen… or will he continue down the road to perdition?

But…but…isn’t The Orange Emperor winning bigly? He said so himself, ““I think the war is very complete, pretty much,”” See, he must be winning because he said so and who is going contradict the greatest and biggliest genius the world has ever seen. The madness will continue to flow from the degenerate and putrefying brain of The Donald.

Let’s not forget the timeline for this attack by US and Israel on Iran:
February 6 – Iran and the US begin indirect nuclear negotiations in Geneva, mediated by Oman, with the aim of reaching a deal to curb Tehran’s nuclear programme.
February 17 – High-level US–Iran nuclear talks resume in Geneva, again with Omani mediation.
February 22 – Oman confirms another round of discussions in Geneva, describing a “positive push” but admits that significant differences remain.
February 26 – A third round of nuclear talks concludes in Geneva, with mediator Oman saying “significant progress” was made and more discussions would be held the following week commencing March 2 in Vienna.
February 27 – Oman’s foreign minister says Iran has agreed to degrade its current stockpiles of nuclear material to “the lowest level possible” — effectively to unrefined levels.
February 28 – Israel and US attack Iran with coordinated strikes on Iranian targets, including sites in and around Tehran. Iran retaliates by launching air and missile strikes across the region, including Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait.
If I was a cynic I would think that Israel did not want the March 2 talks in Vienna to go ahead.
How can you schedule peace talks when you know that one party is out to sabotage the talks before they begin ?
Both Israel and the US have been bad faith actors in the talks mediated by Oman. It is clear the butcher Netanyahu is pulling Donald’s strings. The question is, what’s the leverage. The Epstein files?
What?? America surrender to the ZIONAZIS most despised neighbours who survived the US sponsored Iran v Iraq war in the 80s (much to the profit of American armaments manufacturers supplying both sides, and the after-war second hand armaments dealers benefiting from selling-on discarded weapons)??
IMHO there is NO problem ….. the USA (Undemocratic States of Apartheid) have lost every war they have started since 1945, and the armaments corporations could not be more profitable. This is just another debacle for which the US Congress will be excused, the returned service personnel will be ignored and the huge losses inflicted on desired targets will be overlooked as ”inconvenient”.
Meanwhile here in Australia, the little dawg puppet of TACO Trumpery, the huge expense of the conflagration will be absorbed into the feral Budget, the COALition et al will complain loudly, and the voters will get fewer benefits as health, education, policing and public transport services.
Such are the costs of a 19th century day dream of ”world importance” from a middling world political power.
This will be certain to get right up The Donalds nose.

Ironically who does he call when in need of support and advice?
Vladimir Putin whose people have been helping Iran to target US and allies’ assets, but Trump doesn’t care?
What does he care about and related to his two other amigos in Netanyahu and Putin? The Epstein files……
