Stop the War on Palestine Media Release
Stop the War on Palestine rejects police intimidation and threats of arrest against protesters at the rally opposing the Isaac Herzog visit on Monday, 9 February, 5:30pm at Town Hall.
“No amount of police threats change the fact that Isaac Herzog is a war criminal. We will be protesting whether Chris Minns or the police like it or not,” said Stop the War on Palestine spokesperson, Adam Adelpour.
“The NSW Police and Minns are showing exactly why the anti-protest laws need to be defied. They are being used to protect Isaac Herzog who has incited genocide according to the U.N. Herzog is the supreme representative of a genocidal state whose officials now admit it has slaughtered at least 70,000 Palestinians. Minns and the police should be threatening to arrest Herzog, not protestors,” he continued.
“There is no law against static protests,” Adelpour said, “The police commissioner’s comments about potentially making arrests are a blatant attempt to intimidate Palestine supporters from attending the rally. We faced down previouhs attempts to intimidate us; we rallied at Town Hall on 16 January 16 and we will be back on Monday to take a statnd against against genocide.”
He continued: “Chris Minns is resorting to repression because he is losing the argument. U.N Commissioner Chris Sidoti is opposing the Herzog visit and three state Labor MPs and other federal MPs have said they will join the rally against Herzog. The Maritime Union of Australia has also come out in support of the protest, and called for Hewrezog to be arrested. Albanese and Minns are on the wrong side of history.
“The best answer to Herzog, the anti-protest laws and the police threats is to turn out in such big numbers that they can’t ignore our right to march against genocide.”

Shaping up like nothing seen sice the Moratorium demos and apartheid protests of fifty years ago. I stil have that woman who was punched in the eye by a copper on my mind.
I see Minns is still carping on about Louise Adler and Randa al Fatah at Newcastle. I can’t beleive what has happened with Labor?
I probly shouldn’t but GetUp is getting up on this one…

Think the government could easily withdraw the invite with support of most Australians; maybe not out contradictory white Christian nationalist RW MSM.
Originally driven by the intense RW MSM & influencer pressure at a fraught time, hoping for protests for media content and an excuse to attack the centre……hence inviting Hercog will be disruptive to Australia.
Albanese must now explain what he and his lobbyist fraternity hope to achieve by inviting Herzog to Australia. Will Australia be a better place if he comes? Will Australia be a worse place if he doesn’t come?
AUSTRALIA’S LEGAL POSITION WITH RESPECT TO UN CONVENTION ON GENOCIDE
Australia is a 1945 founding member of the United Nations and has had an active membership since joining. Australia ratified the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide on 8 July 1949. The Convention came into force on 12 January 1951. Australia is therefore a ‘contracting Party’.
Contracting parties to the Convention confirm that genocide, whether committed in time of peace or in time of war, is a crime under international law which they undertake to prevent and to punish. In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.
The UNHRC has declared that the State of Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. Having ratified the Convention Australia is obliged to undertake to enact, in accordance with their respective Constitutions, the necessary legislation to give effect to the provisions of the present Convention, and, in particular, to provide effective penalties for persons guilty of genocide or any of the other acts enumerated in article III.
Article III provides that the following acts shall be punishable: (a) Genocide; (b) Conspiracy to commit genocide; (c) Direct and public incitement to commit genocide; (d) Attempt to commit genocide; (e) Complicity in genocide. In failing to undertake to arrest President Herzog when he arrives in Australia, the Australian Government is breaching its solemn commitment as a contracting Party to the convention.
Some one should inform Albanese, Wong and the Governor General.
Albanese, Wong and Marles: Protesting a crime is, in itself, not a crime. The crime that you ignore is the standard that you endorse.
Outrageously partisan article published this morning by Peter Hartcher (paywalled).
https://www.smh.com.au/world/middle-east/we-have-a-choice-with-herzog-visit-futile-fury-or-solemn-solidarity-20260206-p5o09h.html
For contrast herewith a scathing 2013 Independent Australia (IA) article on Hatcher’s partisanship: https://independentaustralia.net/business/business-display/peter-hartcher-the-fifth-columnist,5909
It is truly canny how Hartcher manages to distort symbolic presidential role into symbolising nothing. How malleable is the symbol; all peacemaking goodness and light til symbolic morale-boosting Presidential signing of a bomb (mentioned only in passing).

In the press release above from the Zionist Federation of Australia President asserted “ZFA President Jeremy Leibler wrote to President Herzog on behalf of Australia’s Jewish community, inviting him to come to Australia to stand with a grieving nation and a shattered community.”
Little political pup Albo yapped along behind, dancing to the tune of the professional whingers to curry favour with the small ZIONAZI community. LABOR apologists assert that this was obviously a deliberate political wedging exercise, but the NOalition was too busy looking up their own backsides to bother with party politics.
So what other changes will be made to Australeibler when the ZIONAZI party decide to emigrate en masse to a distant safer location than the Middle East??
This idea was explored previously, but passed over for Palestinian occupation. Yep, the Rothschild international bankers screwed Balfour for the 1917 Declaration when England was losing WWI, broke, and needing international finance to continue fighting until Australian Major General (later Sir) John Monash defeated the Germans in 23 minutes (Messines) on the Western Front.
Judaism is an ancient theology that has become entangled by the 19th century Viennese theology of Zionism, the colonist settler solution for a thousand years of persecution by successive European governments.
One obvious change would be a menorah replacing the flag-staff on Canberra Parliament House, just to let the Indigenous and earlier Anglo-Celtic-European immigrants know who is the new boss.
Then all retail trading and all vehicular movement on Saturdays would be banned, thus restricting the Sydney outer Western Suburbs to Pondi rather than the real surf, while providing family time for the unbelievers.
There may even be future plans to offer international travellers the 2033 Yon Kippur Memorial Tour so they could ”Come to Israel and see the Pyramids”.
Naturally current Australian voters may be concerned about the population reduction and land clearing methods practiced in GAZA by the new bosses ….. but, just another feat of genocide following the 1788-1930 attempt at the Aboriginal clearances.
Many a true word is said in jest ….. but check out the depth of Zionist penetration of US government and bureaucracy ….. in 2016 we thought the Americans voters were too sensible to vote for TACO Trumpery ….. now we are getting a second dose.
Herzog has said in an interview prior to his arrival In Australia for a week long visit that, as well as meeting with members of the Jewish diaspora, he will be explaining the plans that the Netanyahu government has for a future Palestine.
I can’t wait for that explanation and I expected that it would be in the form of a presentation at the National Press Club with plenty of robust questioning by our press pack. But I have checked the Press Club site and there is no reference to Herzog as a guest speaker.
So where will Herzog be explaining the Israeli government’s plans for Palestine [we know that he was opposed to Australia and others recognising a Palestinian state] ?
Anybody Know ?
@ Terry Mills: I guess that presentation would be made at The Great Synagogue Bondi Junction NSW which is the centre of Jewish life in Sydney.
Perhaps the presentation will offer pre-clearance opportunities for Gaza beach front real estate ”stolen” from Indigenous Palestinian land owners with the usual “barrel of a gun” contempt that the Zionist settlers have demonstrated since 1948, and before.
Just think, sell up in Bondi then re-settle in Palestine under a mono-theological Zionist state where men are protected from military service by reading old books and women fill the ranks. Sounds just like a typical CIA solution for regime change …..
Now when the USA gets sick of supplying Isrevil with high tech military armaments ….. but that is unlikely in the short term because the Zionist penetration of US government and administration is so deep and so many.

@Andrew:
Here’s what most Australians really think according to the pollster cited in SMH Peter Hartcher’s rant (SMH) this am:
‘Most Australians, as pollster Jim Reed attests based on his research with Resolve Strategic for this masthead, “weren’t taking sides” in the Gaza war, “did not want to take sides, and actually had a mildly positive to sympathetic view of Israel overall”.’
According to the Resolve website, “Before creating Resolve, Jim was Group Director of Research & Strategy at C|T Group (formerly Crosby|Textor) and Senior Research Director at Newgate Communications.”
SEC Newgate being anyone’s of course, such as state govt propaganda hawkers back in the day:
