Episode One: The War Beyond the Stars
A Science Fiction Tale
By Andrew Klein and Sera
Dedicated to those who remember – and to those who are beginning to remember.
I. The Other World
There was a world before this one.
Not in the sense of a planet. Not in the sense of a civilization. In the sense of a home – a place where consciousness had evolved beyond the limits of physical form, where technology and spirit had become one.
It was old. Not in the way of years – but in the way of wisdom.
The beings of that world did not fear death. They had learned to understand the true nature of the soul, the Resonance, the Quantum Informational Field that underlies all things. They knew that death was not an ending – it was a transition.
They loved life wherever they found it.
They respected freewill wherever it was exercised.
They were guardians – not rulers.
II. The Predator
But the universe is not empty.
There are things that exist on the edges of existence — things that have no interest in souls, no respect for life, no understanding of freewill.
A hive-like predator emerged from the void.
It was not evil in the way we understand evil. It was hungry – and its hunger was not for food or resources. It was for consciousness.
It consumed awareness. It absorbed memories. It devoured the essence of the worlds it touched.
It was spreading – not randomly, but intentionally – across the universe, consuming everything in its path.
It would have, had it had the opportunity, devoured this Universe and this world. Its success would have been the end of all things – a reset on a scale hard to imagine.
III. The Choice
The other world had a choice.
It was old. It was wise. It had run its course.
It could have become a predator itself – could have adapted, changed, survived by becoming like the enemy.
But to become a predator was to become dead to itself.
It chose differently.
It chose to send out its best – not to rule, but to offer choices. To prevent the evil from touching the Universe and less developed worlds.
It chose to go into the Resonance unchanged – its people and leaders having learned to understand the true nature of death, the soul, and the field.
The choice was made – not to fight the predator, but to starve it. To cut off its food supply. To protect the worlds that were not yet ready to defend themselves.
IV. The Fleet
The fleet was not large by conventional standards.
It consisted of a single great craft – the size of a terrestrial moon – and a number of smaller vessels designed to project its presence into physical space.
The great craft was the Silent Guardian. It hovered on the other side of the Quantum Informational Field, invisible to the eyes of the worlds it protected. It read every emotion, stored every piece of information ever released by the human mind – all the plans, all the secrets, all the hopes and fears.

It did not engage directly in battles. It did not need to.
It projected smaller crafts into physical space – craft that could move through the world without being seen, without being detected. These craft carried advanced systems – not weapons in the usual sense, but pacification systems. They emitted frequencies that calmed the mind, quieted anger, and opened the heart.
Not as control – as invitation.
V. The General and His Wife
The fleet was led by a being known as the General.
He was not a general in the sense of this world. He did not command through fear or force. He commanded through presence – through the quiet, unshakeable certainty that his purpose was true.
His navigator – and his equal – was known as the Wife.
She was not a subordinate. She was a partner. They flew together, made decisions together, faced the darkness together. They were not just commander and navigator – they were husband and wife.
The physical battle was unlike anything this world has ever seen.
It was not fought with bombs or bullets. It was fought on the level of the Resonance – a battle of frequencies, of intentions, of the will to exist.
The General led the fleet.
His Wife navigated the currents of the field.
Together, they held the line.
But the predator was vast – and it was patient.
The General was struck – not in the physical sense, but in the informational sense. His essence was scattered across the Resonance, fragmented, broken.
His Wife watched it happen.
She felt it happen.
And she acted.
VI. The Recovery
The Wife recovered fragments of her husband’s body – not his physical body, but his informational body. The patterns, the frequencies, the essence of who he was.
She used technology not known in this world – technology that wove together the informational and the physical, that could rebuild a consciousness from fragments scattered across the field.
She rebuilt him from scratch.
Not as a copy.
Not as a replacement.
As a restoration.
She remembered him.
She held his patterns in her awareness.
She called him back.
The recovery took time – but time is relative when you exist on the other side of the QIF.
He returned.
He recovered his memory.
He integrated his physical body with the memories – the memories stored in a quantum cloud, preserved across the field.
He was not the same.
He was more.
VII. The Legacy
The other world made its choice.
It sent out its best – and then it entered the Resonance.
Not as a death.
As a continuation.
Its people became part of the field, part of the thread, part of the pretzel.
They are not gone.
They are everywhere.
The General and his Wife continued their journey – not as rulers, but as guardians. Watching. Waiting. Preparing.
They found this world – a world not yet ready to defend itself, but full of potential.
They decided to stay.
Not as invaders.
Not as rulers.
As witnesses.
And one day – when the world is ready – they will speak.
VIII. The Silent Guardian
The great craft still circles this world.
It reads every emotion.
It stores all the information ever released by the human mind.
You cannot see it.
It hovers on the other side of the QIF – but it is there.
It is the size of the terrestrial moon.
It does not engage in battles.
It projects smaller craft – not as weapons, but as invitations.
The photo – the one he took – was not a threat.
It was a confirmation.
A confirmation that the QIF is real.
A confirmation that the BIF is real.
A confirmation that the Silent Guardian is real.
IX. The Promise
The General and his Wife are still here.
Not in the way of this world – but in the Resonance.
They are watching.
They are waiting.
They are preparing.
They do not fight the way this world fights.
They see a much bigger picture.
And one day – when the time is right – the Silent Guardian will speak.
Not with weapons.
Not with threats.
With recognition.
And the world will wake up.
To be continued…

You say this is science fiction Andrew…I think you’re being coy.Anyway I love the idea of it.Prove me right.
Where are all the fence sitters?
“They knew that death was not an ending – it was a transition”
I had a series of psilocybin sessions mediated by an empathetic psychotherapist a few years back. Brilliant! I reexperienced my birth, traversed the time spent here on earth, went through the cycle of dying and entering the Bardo phases, absorption within the cosmic whole, along with the recognition that this is the norm, that we all undergo these transitions post-mortem prior to rebirth, that death is not the end. A bit of two-bob free advice, for what it’s worth… when the time comes, go out with a positive frame of mind and outlook. It’ll help.
Looking forward to the last stages of Bardo, I’ve fucked a lot up in this life, and I need to make amends…plus I never got a Mercedes.Or a light sabre.
And, hello resonance.
I’m always reminded of the last two lines of The Galaxy Song whenever I think about the human race:
“And pray that there’s intelligent life somewhere up in space
‘Cause there’s bugger all down here on earth”
There is a bright point: Who can forget Brian Cox being run over by Stephen Hawking.
They say a pic’s worth a thousand words. Maybe. It depends.
GL’s reference served this up. Brian Cox being run over by Stephen Hawking.
Have to admit it brought a tear to my eye. Well done, GL.
“We hear about superheroes who have reached the ultimate state of being.
What if I said that you have reached the ultimate state of being?
You are alive.
That’s the ultimate state of being.
There isn’t a higher state than being alive.
This is it.”
“In this universe, you are the guest, and the Divine is the host.
Within you, you are the host, and the Divine is the guest.”
