To Trump, over a million casualties in the Ukraine war is nothing more than a kids’ playground fight.
The depravity of Trump’s view of catastrophic war was on full display in his White House meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Trump told reporters present about the million plus dead and wounded in the largely degraded Ukraine:
“Sometimes you see two young children fighting like crazy. They hate each other, and they’re fighting in a park, and you try and pull them apart. They don’t want to be pulled. Sometimes you’re better off letting them fight for a while and then pulling them apart.”
Trump was equally grotesque in pondering the war (he continuously blames his predecessor for provoking) in his phone call to Russia President Putin:
“I said, Mr. President, maybe you’re going to have to keep fighting and suffering a lot,’ because both sides are suffering before you pull them apart, before they’re able to be pulled apart.”
At the Merz meeting Trump further stated that:
“When I see the moment where it’s not going to stop … we’ll be very, very tough. And it could be on both countries, to be honest. It takes two to tango.”
Trump was threatening sanctions on both Russia and Ukraine to stop their fistfight in the park. He might as well be threatening putting both on ‘Double Secret Probation.’
Actually, it takes three to tango since the war goes on because Trump continues enabling it with billions in weapons, logistics and Intel support. Pull that away and Ukraine’s Zelensky would have to negotiate the peace he ran away from in April 2022 at America’s behest. Had he made peace, then Zelensky might still control the 45,000 square miles annexed and not incurred over a million senseless casualties.
And cruel, clueless, delusional Trump sits back pretending he’s still concerned about ending a catastrophic war he’s enabled for the past 137 days. The same war he boasted he would end on the first day of his presidency – 137 days ago.

e will never know, but I don’t believe this war would have started had Biden not gotten involved. I still see similarities to the Cuban Crisis. Putin tried, like JFK, to bluff Ukraine with a show of force, sadly, it did not work and then along came Joe.
Yes, justification of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine represents the convergence of views of mindless sycophantic Trump supporters, low IQ neo fascists, wacky conspiracy theorists, old fashioned communists (who yearn for the return of the Soviet Union) and those with a weirdly misplaced distrust of prosperity and democracy
You’re known by the company you keep
What form of Democracy are you talking about?
The bizarre rewriting of Ukrainian history and the origins of this war in this story are frightening.
Ukraine had NO missiles and explicitly disarmed and gave its nuclear weapons over to Russia in return for a guarantee of protection agreed to by both Russia and the USA. The people of Kharkiv, who speak Russian BTW, don’t want to be part of Russia. In the period of openness before Putin’s accession to power, the relationship was gradually improving from the suspicion due to the Holodomor.
Putin pours missiles and bombs into residential areas, killing civilians. HE invaded a sovereign nation he was supposed to protect. HE wants to make it part of Russia again. HE could stop this war in an afternoon. But he is caught by his own intelligence failure. Someone lied to him about Ukraine and its leadership, and the country he thought would gratefully fall into his rescuing arms is scratching his eyes out and kicking him in the balls.
He is riding a tiger he created himself. His propaganda machinery has Russians proposing to fire missiles at Berlin and London, and calls the Ukrainians defending their homes terrorists for attacking legitimate military targets. He would not survive politically if he were to accept a ceasefire or withdraw his troops. In Russia as it is today, he simply would not survive at all.
The scary part is that you think that a Ukrainian surrender or a Russian victory would solve the Ukraine problem. That doesn’t happen. The only solution that lets us have peace after such an event is genocide. There would be no Ukrainian who would EVER forgive the criminal invasion, and they would know who to blame here in the West for the loss of their nation as well.
Appeasement never works.
A fascinating story,, do you have any evidence to back up these claims?
This constant promotion of international fear, is politically contrived nonsense, it is a means of keeping the people from seeing a constant decline in living standards, while at the same time promoting the wealth of the few.
If there should be WW3, the blame will be solely on our elected leaders.
