Why Liberal Women Don’t Need Quotas (But Nationals Do)!

You have to feel sorry for Jacinta Nampijinapa Price…

I mean apart from the fact that the bit between the “Jacinta” and the “Price” has those three dot things all together which had the potential for someone to use it as one of those three eyed fish memes which Labor used to mock the Coalition’s commitment to nuclear energy… a position which has led to devastating consequences for both Iran and the Liberals!

No, I’m referring to the idea that, if she’d stayed in the Nationals, she’d have a much more senior portfolio because the Nationals are guaranteed certain portfolios and – as a National – she’d have got something substantial but – as a Liberal – it’s all decided on merit… which doesn’t explain how Dutton ever became leader…

Although it does explain how Scott Morrison took over all those portfolios: he felt that none of the people who were in them had merit and that he needed to give it to someone who had, which was the man, himself…

Anyway, I should probably add the fact that when I say “portfolios” or “ministries”, I am – in fact – referring to shadow ministers because as some of you may know the Liberals lost government at the most recent election… Oh, sorry, they lost government at the previous election but it’s taken some in the media some time to catch up with this fact because they seemed to think that it was worth quoting some Coalition person about what they intended to to when they returned to their rightful place…

Of course, the other theory is that the lefty media ruined the Coalition’s chances at the election by constantly reminding the public of who they were and what they believed and how their ideas were generally, well, how do I say this, generally not actually ideas but more talking points… And when I say talking points I mean something to say and not something to use to answer a question…

This is not to say that Labor are perfect by any means, but at least they have influence. Greg Sheridan rather strangely said that the current government was irrelevant and that nobody would listen to them and they should have backed Trump’s bombing of Iran straight away and because they didn’t say that the US had done the right thing without considering anything then they’d have no influence because unless you sycophantically agree with everything you can’t expect to influence it… On the other hand, they did call for a stop and for a return to the negotiating table and that happened about a day later.

The point is that women shouldn’t rely on some quota system to be chosen as a candidate for the Liberals. They should rely on merit like the Nationals don’t…

  • I am not at all sorry that this scheming woman - who betrayed her own people in the National Referendum and is on record of saying the most outrageous things about the ‘Invasion and occupation’ is now being sidelined.
I don’t really follow trash news but if Greg Sheridan opens his mouth to say anything at all - it seems sensible to play safe and just ignore it.

  • Oh Rossleigh! Didn’t you know?
The merit bit only applies to the women. That’s why Julie supported it. Coz she had so much merit. Until she didn’t.
And as soon as any Liberal woman can prove she really is a man the whole merit bit will go out the window just like we wish Liberal women would.
I like to think of the dots above the iji as being the three little dancing dots that appear while your page loads and seem to mimic your fingers taping while you wait for it.

  • Never let it be said that NameYer Price will put the voters before her reported rapacious dealings with the Parliamentary Allowances System that so many politicians have allegedly rorted with impunity and sorrowfully without any criminal charges being pursued.

But I digress ..... living in New England where the representative of the NOtional$ is Baaaarnabay Beetrooter Joyce who wins election after election without any merit, ability or even campaigning effort, makes me one of a small group of thinking voters who recognise that the NOtional$ are targeting a 19th century future that is a mere 25 years away.

Yep!! New England is being prepared to become a genuine, authentic, original 19th century theme park celebrating the future Korean War wool boom when the declining number of sheep graziers last made a profit that could be squandered on wild city living and ostentatious living.

This makes such a comforting change from the present day reality for graziers surviving on the smell of the bank mortgage raised by their grand-parents and ever since religiously rolled over to ''keep the property in the family'' while maintaining a sense of deja vue.

The great surprise of New England politics is how the rusted on NOtional$ supporters make every excuse for their candidate whose self-serving ''achievements'' almost match those from the Territorian. Is it fact that:

Tamworth ladies prefer their males to be adulterous, alcoholic, bigoted, corrupt, deceptive, egotistical, sexually harassing misogynists?
Any action taken by their hero candidate is acceptable behaviour?
The optimal solution to the economic decline clearly evident in the main street of every town in the electorate is to raise the remuneration package of the representative politicians?

However in reality, the solution to NOtional$ dominance and electoral decay is in the numbers of voters departing the electorate for work opportunities elsewhere, thus growing the land area of each electorate in compensation. Continued to the ultimate extreme, this would mean the final demise of the NOtional$ because there would be fewer regional electorates that likely would be held by regional INDEPENDENTS.
