What I think of Peter Dutton

By Kathryn

Dutton’s rising label as “Mr. Flip-Flop” thinly veils the harsher truth: he’s seen as a shameless, unapologetic liar, willing to say or do anything to seize unchecked power and govern the nation like a third-world dictator.

Dutton fits the mold of a deeply unpopular, coldly inhumane, and racially divisive figure, earning his other moniker, “Mr. No,” through his persistent negativity and opposition to any measures that would support the country’s poorest and most vulnerable citizens.

There’s little doubt that if the worst-case scenario unfolds and “Mr. No” rises to the role of the LNP’s next “most disastrous” Crime Minister, he and his unprincipled LNP colleagues will likely dismantle and revoke everything within their capitalistic, neoliberal grasp. This includes the complete privatisation and sell-off of every critical state-owned public service across Australia.

These services could encompass Medicare, public hospitals, community health programs, public schools, TAFE (much of which is already privatised), our cherished taxpayer-funded post office, the ABC, SBS, and a wide range of other social services. The government also oversees key areas like infrastructure, the environment, law enforcement, and essential federal or state-owned public transport – all of which the LNP/Murdoch/IPA Alliance is eager to privatise and hand over to corporate interests, even if they’re foreign-owned.

At present, these vital services are overseen by Australian taxpayers through federal or state governments, delivering high-quality, affordable, or fully subsidised public services to all Australians. However, if the LNP/Murdoch/IPA Alliance gets its way, they will privatise and sell off these services to greedy, foreign-owned corporations focused solely on maximising profits at our expense. Their approach would likely involve laying off Australian workers, raising fees and charges, while slashing the quality, quantity, and frequency of services. They might even shift management overseas, beyond the reach of Australia’s strict labour laws, including minimum wage standards and essential OH&S regulations that ensure workplace safety for employees in these sectors.

Let’s be clear – the primitive bipods in the LNP have never cared about everyday working- and middle-class Australians, and they never will. The callous elitists in the LNP are solely focused on themselves and their greedy billionaire backers in the top 1%, such as figures like Gina Rinehart or their self-serving publicist, American citizen Rupert Murdoch.

Ordinary working- and middle-class Australians who vote against their own interests by backing the arrogant, self-centred political baboons in the LNP are essentially like turkeys voting for Christmas.

To all working- and middle-class Australians who still back the ruthless, entitled, and greedy figures occupying every seat in the LNP, ask yourself: “What has the LNP/Murdoch/IPA Alliance ever done, in its self-serving, elitist history, to benefit working- and middle-class Australians?” The answer is nothing at all.

Every single service or benefit that improves the lives of ordinary Australians – such as long service leave, four weeks of annual leave, workplace OH&S, cumulative sick leave, maternity leave, Medicare, and more – was fought for and implemented through the tireless efforts, dedication, and collaboration of Unions and the Labor Party. The reality is that the LNP has never initiated or passed any policy that benefits everyday Australians and has, in fact, consistently opposed every Union and ALP proposal that would enhance the lives of Australian citizens.

It’s because they lack a collective heart. There are names for people like that.

  • A rancid ratbag nobody named Riminton from channel ten (his I Q?) has just scribbled up some smokescreen for Dummydunce Dutton, in the Guardian, while sleazing off at Albanese, to earn his pay. Contrived opinion from a coat of makeup is worthless, dishonourable rubbishy sluttery. T V showponies are revolting blemishes...signifying S F A...While Dutton signifies political putridity.

  • It's sort of off topic, but the Liberal's 'women problem' has surfaced again with the news that Linda Reynolds is launching her legal action against the commonwealth over the $2.4million compensation payment to her former staffer, Brittany Higgins.

Poor Linda, the boss lady who fobbed Brittany off when the rape claims were made, says that the Commonwealth breached its duty to act in her (That's poor, hard done by Linda who was not the victim of rape in her office) while settling a compensation payment with Brittany Hifggins.

It is sort of on topic here, because Mr Dutton would claim, oh yes, he did claim that the allegation of rape was a 'she said/he said' sort of thing, implying to 'just forget about it'.

The rape occurred on 23 March 2019 but the allegation was not made until 15 Feb 2021. The trial of the young man involved, Bruce Lehrmann was aborted because of juror misconduct and was not retrialed due to the mental health impact on Ms Higgins. In a subsequent defamation case, a civil case rather than a criminal case, the judge, Justice Michael Lee found that Mr Lehrmann was "hell bent on having sex with Ms Higgins, and he was indifferent to whether she wanted to as well.... So intent upon gratification [Mr Lehrmann] went ahead with sexual intercouse without caring whether or not she consented."

For six years now, Ms Higgins has faced legal action after legal action, with the victim card being handed out to any one involved. Lehrmann's denial, the aborted criminal trial where Ms Higgins was grilled for days over whether she led the man on or not, then the civil case brought by Mr Lehrmann claiming he was hard done by with these accusations, and then for the second time the Minister, a senior member of the Government at the time is fighting for some of the money Ms Higgins was awarded because she was let down by the system.

She said/He said Mr Dutton is more than likely supporting the claim.... another distraction, another reason why the Liberlal National Party coalition is unfit for government. They show absolutely no concern for their Junior staffer, no concern really for any one but them selves and their billionaire friends.

  • Think it goes back a couple of generations via the US GOP, infrastructure in background and attitude of 'whatever it takes', justified by demographic change and 'the great replacment'.

Not just on social issues, but common place now in RW MSM and influencer ecosystem around economy, demographics, climate and Covid science.

It's not just about misleading our ageing electorates, but giving permission for Australians to BS too?

A symptom of 'collective narcissism' and white Christian nationalism that has been inflicted upon the US?

  • Eagerly anticipating a similar fate for Dutton as is unfolding for Trump (below):

'Multiple polls this week showed Trump hitting new lows. His approval rating has been double-digits underwater in surveys from the Pew Research Center (minus-19), Economist-YouGov (-13), Reuters-Ipsos (-11) and now Fox News (-11).

Trump was already more unpopular at this point in his presidency than any modern president not named Trump; he’s now flirting with falling below where he was at this point in his first term.' (Courtesy Wonkette).

Now to next Saturday may be the nation's last chance to ward off similar but persistent evils...
