Our ties to the U.S. and the impact of Zionist Israel – both supporting genocide in Palestine – clearly demonstrate the danger of the U.S. alliance. Trump the moron has taken it to a level of fascist religious dictatorship. The Supreme Court has become a toothless tiger. The old order is dead.
Malcolm Fraser warned us in his book “Dangerous Allies” that we need to become non-aligned. Keating outlined a strategy for an independent Australian Defence free from the need to depend upon the United Staes. Fraser also pointed out the limits of the ANZUS Treaty. The inner circle of government and foreign affairs is far from transparent, and the influence of the Pentagon on Australian politics is here for all to see.
It does not take much imagination to see Trump claiming us for the fifty-first U.S. state. Remember, both Democrats and Republicans have been completely complicit in genocide and war crimes. Democracy is dead in the U.S., and it is going to take years for them to rejoin the world as an honest broker. Illegal U.S. coups and wars have made things much worse and are frightening. They have a terrible record of invasions and supporting military coups. It is not possible to discriminate between U.S. and Russian oligarchs who operate beyond the law, buying influence wherever they go.
The U.S. is openly threatening the International Court of Justice (the ICJ) and its war crimes tribunal. We need to get the hell away from these war mongers. The U.S. has 750 military bases worldwide as it tumbles towards dictatorship. China has none and relies upon soft power, which is much more manageable if we diversify our trade as an independent nation.
Australians live under a cloak of lies. A friend who was Ambassador to China noted that Australians have no idea what goes on within the hidden, undemocratic inner circle of foreign affairs. The U.S is deeply embedded in Australian politics. The old order is gone, and the sooner countries like Australia wake up, the better. We have no idea how deeply AI will affect society. We need to be prepared to tread our own path based on real democracy, justice, equity and utilitarian distribution of goods, both physical and emotional.
The old-world order is over. Trying to patch it up is a fool’s errand. You have to be blind not to see that the Palestinian Genocide has destroyed any moral high ground that Western democracies claim. Pure evil is raining on us. If we do not challenge this horror, we will inevitably be its victims. Time is short.
The world is a dangerous place, the U.S. is the centre of this bastion of greed and inequity. Trying to tiptoe around the edges will be disastrous. We need courage and foresight to forge a new contract with our citizens and the world. The only way this can be done is if we stand up for ourselves.
Shifting deck chairs on the Titanic is no longer an option. Either we wake up or go down with these genocidal maniacs.

I agree with Stephen's assessment of our "so-called" friendship with the USA. They are the world's terrorists and have been for a long time. Australia should reassess its ties with them for its own long-term best interest.
We are witnessing the decline of the US Empire. But Australia is so vast and so indefensible, how on earth could we possibly stand up for ourselves against the might of Sino-Soviet rejuvenation?

regarding Gaza .............. The absolute and obvious silence from the religions of this world regarding the Genocide and murder of tens of thousands of humans is unconscionable. Not a thing said about the butchery by the Israelis. Just another example of how organised religion is simply about control, money and keeping the power system working for the benefit of the cabals running the planet.
Just a quick reminder Mark, China's military build up is defensive. The South China Sea is surrounded by US military bases. China has not sought imperial or colonial expansion.
Russia under Putin is more interested in reclaiming the Great Russian Empire of the by gone Czarist days and has no interest in Australia.
Britain, our great defender for whom we sacrifice our young men in WWI deserted us when Singapore fell to the Japanese.
We are a trading nation and our diplomatic efforts need to be aimed at strengthening those ties. Yes, by all means have joint military exercises, and have a defense structure in place, Navy, Airforce, Army, but the ties with 'big brothers' will fail when they are threatened.
