Justice Dept. should indict Trump for enabling Israeli genocide in Gaza and unprovoked Israeli attack on Iran
She’d probably be fired within minutes, but Attorney General Pam Bondi should announce a war criminal investigation of Trump’s near total participation in the Israeli genocide in Gaza and its June 20 unprovoked attack to destroy the Iranian regime.
Trump is not reticent about gloating over his participation which has flattened Gaza’s 139 square miles, cutting off most food, water medicine making life unlivable for the 2,200,000 of the 2,300,000 Palestinians not dead yet. He’s demanded the survivors be sent to other countries so he can turn Gaza into a gargantuan Trump real estate project to benefit his Israeli puppet masters.
Nor is he shy about collusion with weapons, Intel, logistics and the green light to attack Iran while he lulled them into complacency with a promised negotiated settlement. He’s followed that treachery by demanding they surrender to within 2 weeks or he’ll bomb them into Gaza 2.0.
Eighty years ago America led the world indicting, convicting and sentencing German and Japanese war criminals engaged in grotesque genocide and unprovoked invasions killing millions. US Nuremberg War Crimes Trial prosecutor Robert Jackson called the war criminals engaging in aggressive war as committing the “supreme international crime.” In Germany over 5,000 German war criminals were convicted of which 486 were executed. War crime trials in Japan convicted over 4,400 of which 927 were executed.
There is tiny pushback in Congress to Trump’s ever increasing march to all out war with Iran. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Ro Khanna (D-CA) introduced a bipartisan War Powers Resolution in an effort to prevent President Trump from going to war with Iran without authorization from Congress. Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) introduced a similar War Powers Resolution in the Senate.
Massie said:
“The Constitution does not permit the executive branch to unilaterally commit an act of war against a sovereign nation that hasn’t attacked the United States. Congress has the sole power to declare war against Iran. The ongoing war between Israel and Iran is not our war. Even if it were, Congress must decide such matters according to our Constitution.”
Only 14 other Congresspersons signed on to the Massie, Khanna, Kaine resolutions. That’s just 17 of 535 congresspersons with the moral clarity to push back against Trump’s ongoing support of war crimes enabling Israel’s criminal attacks against a nation that was at peace with its two war criminal attackers. The War Powers Resolution should go further, and demand Trump not send one more bomb, not more Intel report, not one more green light to Israel which desperately needs direct US involvement to decapitate the Iranian regime if not shatter Iran into a failed state.
US presidents have been involved in senseless criminal wars and regime change ops since becoming the strongest military following WWII. Maybe an indictment of the current president obsessed with completing the genocide in Gaza and polishing off the Iranian regime might give Trump pause. More importantly, it would send a strong message to future presidents not to engage in the “supreme international crime.”
