Israel’s decision to block aid to over two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip as Ramadan begins is a reckless act of collective punishment, explicitly prohibited under international humanitarian law. The Government of Israel, as occupying power has the responsibility to ensure that humanitarian aid can reach the population in Gaza.
Humanitarian aid is not a bargaining chip for applying pressure on parties, but a fundamental right of civilians experiencing urgent need in challenging and life-threatening circumstances.
When our teams assessed the conditions in Gaza in the wake of the January 19th announcement of a temporary ceasefire, they encountered apocalyptic scenes of complete destruction and famine-like conditions.
People in Gaza are in need of everything: lifesaving water, food, sanitation and other necessities, as well as equipment critically needed for restoration of water and electricity. The goods that were able to enter during the weeks of ceasefire have brought some relief, but remain a drop in the ocean.
The international community must apply immediate pressure on Israel to ensure vital aid urgently gets into Gaza. The International Court of Justice has ordered Israel to ensure aid deliveries at scale throughout Gaza.

The Australian Government’s continuing blanket support of Israel’s heinous genocidal activities is inexcusable and suggests that Australians align their moral compass with that of Netanyahu and his murderous war machine. In this case the moral compass of the average Australian is NOT reflected in the decisions of our elected politicians.
Peter Gumley, WHAT makes you think that the Albanese government support Netanyahu? That is not true – it is Dutton who openly supports Netanyahu! Worse still, it is that megalomaniacal lunatic, Trump, who not only supports Netanyahu, he was also recently cuddling-up to that ex-KGB killer, Vladimir Putin. If you can judge a person by the type of murderous criminals they support, then Trump and Dutton are as bad as they come!
I agree, Netanyahu is a despicable, totally unconscionable, homicidal psychopath whom the deluded, totally irrational right-wing psychopaths in the Trump regime – and the like-minded Trump-supporting war-mongering political sociopaths in the LNP – keep supporting. This is IN SPITE OF THE FACT that the United Nations have justifiably declared Netanyahu a WAR CRIMINAL for ordering his appalling army to gun down unarmed, innocent and terrified Palestinian Muslim and Christian men, women and little children alike as they attempt to flee Netanyahu’s KILLING FIELDS on the Gaza Strip and elsewhere in Palestine! There can be no doubt that Netanyahu is now seen as a depraved, totally unconscionable madman who is EVERY bit as heinous as the malevolently evil Nazis whom Netanyahu hypocritically continues to condemn. As a result the rest of the world (outside of the RWNJs in the Republican and LNP regimes), are thoroughly disgusted with Netanyahu (and Trump) to the point where Netanyahu’s murderous campaign may cause a wider conflict that could endanger world peace!
The fact that both Trump and his spineless, equally irrational, racist right-wing-extremist sycophant, Peter Dutton, openly support Netanyahu is a RED FLAG WARNING as to their appalling lack of discernment, absolute lack of compassion and, clearly, their pathetic misinformed stance in defending and supporting a stone-cold killer (Netanyahu) as he continues his war crimes, bombing school grounds – causing the unforgivable and reprehensible extermination of little children – and ramping-up his rampage against innocent Muslim and Christian civilians who have lived in Israel for generations! Of course, the ONLY thing that motivates that deplorable convicted criminal, Trump, is OBSCENE WEALTH and the fact that there are so many truly wealthy and powerful Jews living in New York, Philadelphia and other areas of America seems to be having an undue influence on Trump’s diabolical support for Netanyahu which, tragically, emboldens Netanyahu to escalate his attacks against non-Jewish Palestinians, committing even more outrageous war crimes and becoming more and more inhumane and murderous! I must also point out, at this juncture, that it is pleasing to note that not ALL Israeli Jews support Netanyahu and there are increasing numbers of compassionate Jews living in (and outside) Israel who are now raging and actively protesting against Netanyahu’s ongoing war crimes.
Anthony Albanese, the ALP and the Greens MUST speak out AGAINST the evil alliance that is forming between Netanyahu/Trump and Dutton. Australia MUST side with the UN and speak out against the unspeakable evil war crimes that the RWNJ in the right-wing are prepared to overlook!
