Gee, Crypto, eh?

There’s something very obvious about the way it all ends…

I mean, we only have to watch Hollywood movies to see the same plot, over and over and over again…

Of course, when I say the same plot I don’t mean EXACTLY the same plot because, well, I have read a very long book called “The Seven Basic Plots” and I feel well qualified to tell you how it all ends once I work out which plot reality is following…

Ok, this may get a little confusing…

Once upon a time, the Nazis did a particular salute and if someone else did one then it could be presumed that they, too, were a Nazi… And like all those moments in film where one waves a hand at an auction and the bid is knocked down to the shocked idiot who didn’t know what he or she was doing, the normal response is: I WAS MISUNDERSTOOD, THAT IS NOT WHAT I MEANT!

Yeah, but Elon Musk is not saying sorry. He’s not saying he was misunderstood. In fact, I can’t find anything about Elon Musk at all and so I’m not sure that he even exists…

Oh wait, there he is: reposting photos of other people with their arms outstretched and suggesting that he’s not the only one to have done this… although he has failed to find any of actual Nazis…

Anyway, Crypto, eh…

I mean, it’s going to be a great investment and Trump is starting a whole crypto thing where people can invest and nobody knows who’s investing and where the money comes from and isn’t this a great way to stop the government from knowing things and…

Money laundering? Well, who wants to have dirty money? It has diseases and you might get sick, so isn’t it better to have money that’s clean because it’s been laundered… Not sure how Robert Kennedy Junior feels about washing things but we know that most of the stuff that modern medicine believes is just wrong according to him so we can probably expect water to be next on the list of things that he’ll suggest should be removed from any health recommendations…

Anyway, Crypto, eh…

And this is the US government approved crypto way of avoiding tax and, don’t you worry about that, Trump is not Joh from Queensland, he’s Donald from New York and he was the guy who fired everyone on “The Apprentice” and he’s doing it again. None of that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion woke stuff… We want Sameness, Inequity and Exclusion… And non-woke, or as we call it in some places, sleepy bye-bye…

sigh<

So here’s the way it goes from here… Some foreign government, let’s call them China after the Tea Party that took over the Republican Party because if you don’t serve tea in China then you won’t be considered civilised in certain circles and you won’t get an invite to next Royal Wedding!

I got distracted, but that’s ok, it’s what I do, I call it the Weave, because that’s what Trump called his rambling and if you can’t copy the POTUS, then what’s the world coming to? Yeah, when’s the world coming to… and who knocked it out?

It’s the Weave and some people don’t understand it…

Back to the plot of the movie or reality or whatever:

So, this alleged country buys up lots and lots of crypto… the US government approved one… and the value goes up and up and up and more and more money goes into it, and how can we miss out… it’s like the tulips in Holland and the GFC and the bubble in the tea that someone is going to serve to get an invite to the next big event…

And then when this imaginary country that has pushed the price up to the point where the US and its billionaires are hopelessly exposed, they sell.

It crashes.

Whichever one of the seven basic plots this is, I don’t think it’s the one where the President saves the day…

And James Bond was fictional.

I guess we’re all relying on Elon… which is an anagram of LONE… And it means “Oak Tree” which is an anagram of “Re Tea, Ok”… which means nothing… just like Elon’s straight arm gesture…

By the way, have I ever mentioned that TESLA is an anagram of LEAST?

  • A few years ago a train driver in the Pilbara parked his iron ore train at the top of a hill, and walked away forgetting to put on the handbrake. It started to roll and gradually picked up speed until the whole thing resulted in a total devastation which the media swooped on to boost its readership. With Americas new leader I feel I am privileged to be watching this show close up as history repeats.

  • polt, Rossleigh, rhymes with bolt or plot with blot.

  • Musk.

"Will too much success ruin Elon"?

Elon Musk is as much a creature of his culture as any of us. The response to social infrastructure is atavistic. Yet you can understand a typical resentment, the resentment against social infrastructure as"wasteful", because in the worst cases I can feel (or "grok") it, too.

I think at fifty-odd, Musk has got himself into fairly deep water, in the curious world of US politics and economics. The man looks haggard at worst in trying to incorporate business logic and socio-political political logic against a backdrop of human life and limit.

People like John Quiggin have tried to warn of the conflation of pure rationalism into a human world and its economics, size ten feet do not fit well with a size six shoe. The salute is a symptom of society well split as well as a display of frustration when persusion and salesmanship just don't connect. Trump and Musk are dislocated from the reality of the woman with kids trying trying to make ends meet, let alone a penniless Guatemalan prole trying to excape poverty. The extreme example has been Biden's misguided support(application?) of the butchery Israel has perpetrated in the Middle-East and the attempt to pursue other big game motives with the cover of Jabotnik harshness as a diversion.

I think the Inaugaration really a bit worrisome, with the attending self adoring people really out of touch with basic feelings and humanity. Ego and narcissism in excelsis, from just about all of those people, just as flawed as with the rest of us.
Terence Mills' comment on "the hat" somes it up.

Easy to knock the sort of things Trump wants to knock down but all the wealth in the world does not seem to bring the oligarchy joy. Or the weilding of power, something akin to a chimp trying to undersand computers and finally chucking one on the floor in frustration.

I feel I've been watching something akin to an Aztec human sacarifice ritual in action, as to Gaza. The Democrats were out of touch and there is no reason to beleive the Republicans are any better, but the European nine-thirties example shows that once momentum is up, bad decisons based on prejudice, massacres and starvation roll inexorably on, as night from day. Put simply, "they know not what they do"

  • Lone Skum has little, if any, business sense. He may have decent judgment as to which businesses are worth investing in, but he has no idea how to actually manage those businesses. Look at the shambles he's made of Xitter, for instance, and the way he has been forcibly removed from senior management roles within his own companies.
He's there purely for self-aggrandisment, self-enrichment, and furtherance of his fascist ideals.

  • Paul Walter, I think Elon Musk cannot be dismissed as readily as we may like.
Through X he has a world wide audience and is trying to influence politics in Germany with his support for the far right. He is posting negative comments about the British PM.

He is a citizen of the world and will seek to influence where ever he can... and he has the resources to play that game for a long time.

  • Terrence:

No. Just no. This isn't a joke, it isn't a comedy show, this is real and it is serious. Lone Skum's family were (literally) Nazis, he has shown himself in the past to have fascist beliefs, he has been openly pushing fascist ideals, he has openly supported neo-Nazi groups in Europe, and he gave what was unequivocally a deliberate Nazi salute. This is not something to laugh off.
