When we recently switched from instant email article alerts to a single Weekly Digest, we did it to save your inbox from the clutter, and feedback alerted us that this was not to everyone’s liking.
However, we immediately heard from many of you who would miss getting our articles the exact moment they happen. One email a week simply isn’t suitable for our most dedicated readers!
To make everyone happy, we are officially moving to a “Choose Your Own Adventure” system. You now have three distinct options for how you receive notifications:
⚡ Option 1: Instant Alerts (Whenever we publish)
- What you get: An email notification the second a new article goes live on our website.
- Best for: Readers who want anrticles instantly and don’t want to wait a week.
- How to get it: Do nothing! Because you are already on our master list, our newly reactivated Jetpack system will deliver these to you automatically starting from now.
📅 Option 2: Weekly Digest Only (Once a week)
- What you get: One single email around noon each Tuesday containing a scannable recap of all articles from the past week.
- Best for: Readers who want to avoid inbox fatigue and prefer a relaxed weekend catch-up.
- How to get it: Scroll to the very bottom of this specific email (or any future instant alert) and click “Unsubscribe.” This will safely opt you out of the instant alerts, but you will remain on our list for the weekly digest.

Many readers might prefer to get our articles instantly and receive our weekly summary to catch up on anything they missed over the week. If that’s you, simply do nothing! You are already set up to receive both.

Betty, easy fixed: click on ‘Unsubscribe’ and the bottom of the weekly email.
Bert, that option was ruled out due to cost.
Bert’s idea above has some merit, but the current system works well enough for me most of the time.
Can understand the email fatigue issue, although for me that only happens when I’m out bush. It sucks coming back to the massive pile of notifications from various content creators, liberally interspersed with spam.
