Israel to the people of Gaza: “No food for you during ceasefire”

The ceasefire brokered by President Trump was pitched as great relief for Palestinians being bombed to oblivion in Gaza. Some relief as hundreds of Palestinians have been killed or wounded by Israeli military sharpshooters who still occupy over half of Gaza’s 139 square miles of rubble. Israel was cool with the bombing ceasefire as there were very few buildings left standing to bomb.

But Israel’s US-supported genocide grinds on under the radar as it simply continues its two-year-long denial of food to starve Palestinians who at this stage had survived the bombs or the bullets. The ceasefire required Israel to allow in 600 food trucks daily to prevent mass starvation. But in the first 11 days only 986 trucks arrived, just 15% of the 6,600 required to keep Palestinians barely alive. The average of 89 trucks per day is just a tad better than the 67 per day in the weeks before the ceasefire.

World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhnanom Ghebreyesus put it starkly:

“The situation still remains catastrophic because what’s entering is not enough. There is no dent in hunger because there is not enough food.”

Palestinian starvation/malnutrition deaths will occur long after a meaningful ceasefire is achieved, if ever. According to the UN Population Fund the Gaza malnutrition crisis will have long-term effects on Palestinians:

“Malnutrition will have generational effects, not on the mother, but on the newborn, likely to result in ever longer lasting care and problems throughout the life of the baby.”

In August two international relief agencies declared that hundreds have starved to death, and hundreds of thousands were in famine condition.

While Trump boasts about stopping the genocide in Gaza, he’s simply trumpeting cessation of massive bombing. The quiet genocide of no food, water and medicine for Palestinians will go on till they’re all dead and gone.

  1. Last week, the leader of the most powerful country in the world called climate change “the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world”.

The people of Palestine could well say that the Trump twenty-point peace plan is the “the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the Palestinian people”.

  2. Due to the risk of malicious legal action, I can’t say what I think, but I will say, Israel continues to prove, over and over, to the world, what kind of species they are. And Western leaders who refuse to act, indeed, support them, are not far behind.

  3. Hasn’t that always been Bibi’s aim?
A land without people for a people who want a “greater Israel”?

  4. Until Australia and the world wake up and does something about the evil of the Zionists and the two worlds worst terrorists and bullies, the USA and Israevil… the killings will never stop… and for the record I am unashamedly anti-semetic… and that the racist state of Israevil should NEVER have been (ilegally) created in the first place..

  5. Reading a couple of days ago, a report on seriously important defence stuff sold to Israel days before the whole thing got going..folk keeping quiet.
