President Trump directed the National Park Service to restore the statue of Civil War General Albert Pike to the Judiciary Square Neighborhood, just a half mile from the Capitol. Congress authorized erecting the Pike statue in 1898 at the height of Jim Crow lunacy in the South to fill the public square with make believe Confederate heroes. So many went up one might conclude the South won the Civil War.
Pike was the only Confederate traitor displayed in the Capitol, but his treason was camouflaged a tad by displaying him in civilian attire and listing these life attributes: AUTHOR, POET, SCHOLAR, SOLDIER, JURIST, ORATOR, PHILANTHROPIST and PHILOSOPHER. Civil War traitor? Fuhgeddaboudit. If Pike was around for the unveiling, he’d probably balk at being busted from General to lowly soldier.
Unlike his installation in 1901, Pike was unceremoniously toppled by Black Lives Matter protesters in 2020 following the George Floyd murder.
To placate his MAGA base, President Trump will restore Pike to his rightful place besmirching the public square near the seat of government. Trump seeks to restore other such odious historical figures, claiming they have been “improperly removed or changed in the last 5 years to perpetuate a false revision of history or improperly minimize or disparage certain historical figures or events.”
Good grief. If Trump was Chancellor of Germany, he’d likely demand smashed WWII statures of Hitler be recreated and displayed. “Hey, we can’t minimize or disparage certain historical figures to placate the WOKE German leftists.”

Trump was filth long ago, by evidence available, concentrated, odious, compressed, impure filth. His debts, bankruptcies, perversions, litigations, foul tendencies, behaviour, laziness, ignorance, all this was well known. Trump is a blot on civilised behaviour, but, in a USA where so many substandard thinkers have been perverted and corrupted by advertising lying, Hollywood, superheroes, this turd has triumphed. Evil.
